The 69 doesn't have a modern wire stripper built into the bottle opener but the technique still works wonderfully.

Rip those limiters off! I had to do that on the saw. Factory setting was way to lean for my blood. Even with 50:1. I was gifted an old stihl weed eater that won’t stop. It’s still drinking the same mix from last fall. Of course as I type this I probably jinxed it

This one is a Homelite I bought in '93.  Never would have thought it would last this long.  I took it apart four years ago and the inside was the smoothest cylinder and piston surface of anything I've owned with that much use on it.  Was really impressed at how well it's holding up.  This little Walbro carb doesn't tolerate  ethanol in the gas at all...  I usually end up doing this about every four or five years and have to turn the adjustments in a bit and slowly let them out over time until I hit the stops and know it's time to do it again.   (and I always run it dry after each use)

Day 27 and I carried this very well-loved 1967 Wenger M61 with me today.  Seen here on gin gimlet duty after a looong day.

This SAK is off to a new home tomorrow, as my friend at work mentioned her 13-yr-old son is just getting interested in SAKs.  With the homemade bicycle spoke bail it'll be the perfect companion for summer camp.  :)

Very kind of you Myron!  What a great knife to receive as her first SAK.   :hatsoff:

I always heard homelite made good OPE back in the day. I love that more stations around me are selling non-oxy ethanol free premium! Can you believe the new 2 strokes have cats!?
Sorry for getting off topic all, I just love engines!

Day 27.  I stopped buying a lot of Breyer horses ages ago, since one small independent store stopped selling them entirely 5-6 years ago, and Tractor Supply now only carries very few, even at Christmas. Tuesday Morning still gets some of the special runs every now and then. I now try to focus on the earlier; and American made Breyer items; from the 1960s to 1990s.  Stablemates is what I always focused on, as they take up little space. The problem with Stablemates, particularly with less stocky breeds is their legs; and to a lesser extent, body parts like ears. The plastic they use is very hard and brittle.  Drop them, or if they fall themselves from a height; and something WILL break off.  The horses in gaited poses always fall over when you get within five feet. Over the years, I had three of a particular version of the American Saddlebred horse; as I at the time owned a Saddlebred mare who looked almost the same as the Breyer; except she had a slightly darker coat (my Dad now has her, but due to a long going dispute with him; primarily due to the issues and the divide between us and him his current wife has caused; I obviously ain't getting her back; even though I can tell she really isn't being taken care of; as anytime I get even near her; she comes right to me).  The third I've had is being propped up on the knife. Had her on the card for probably 10 years; and decided to open her up 3-4 years ago. Not long after, a piece of furniture in another room got moved without my knowledge, which I forgot she was on; and the right hind leg got broken off.

I had to attach the photo. Internet is acting wonky at the house, I am nearly out of the 1 gig data plan; and both IMGUR and PostImage were giving me a fit. May have had something to do with the slow internet, and my original photo being big.  At least I know I won't lose it this way.

Cody, sorry to hear about the horse, they are truly spectacular animal and they surely have personalities and souls in them.

I have been using IMGUR, and gonna admit sometimes they are not the most stable website.  But so far keeping my finger cross, copying the bbcode from their site is still working well.

G-Dizzle, how do you like the Izula2?  I kept disregarding it for years thinking it is the same thing as the original Izula, but turns out it should really fit my bill since it has a longer handle which I think is missing from my Becker 14.

Sorry about your mare. Problems such as that really boil my blood.

I remember being a kid and my grandparents had ice cream buckets full of horses like those. Never could get them to stand up straight. Very brittle too

It has just the right handle for a full grip while still remaining pocketable. Blade stock is a little thick but not noticeably so for working with wood if you keep a good edge on it. Its perfect to accompany a SAK in a pocket if you are outdoors in my opinion. You have a knife that you can beat on and would be very hard pressed to break and the SAK foe slicier tasks.

 it rides well both on the belt and in the pocket. Replace the Soldier with a Farmer and you have quite the pocket-outdoorsman blade setup. Carry a flashlight and small firesteel with it and it’s not a half-bad ultra ultra light survival oriented edc.

Hectic day so far with this little break between a couple jobs while waiting for a coworker to show up to this site. Last job I learned my tone probe needed a new 9V battery.

More nice work and pics, y’awl!

Day 28

Soldier ‘84’s main blade on duty for post work - sadly just stationery supplies. Myron, the ‘65 Wenger is finally out of Heathrow, so could be here tomorrow or Saturday depending on how slowly it passes through the next sorting office (it’s only 21 miles from here to Heathrow - I can cycle that in 90 mins or so....!). And my Farmer X is due tomorrow too, so could be more post duty for the SAKs! :woohoo:
