New for 2020 - Trident AT Folding Knife

SOG has put a lot of thought into their assisted XR lock. It has fast deployment is designed for real users. Wearing big gloves? No problem, you'll get this open and you'll actually be able to use it.

The Trident is part of the the new professional line of SOG knives. It feels heavy duty, and the grip is aggressive. It has a line cutter (or seat belt cutter) build into the handle that doesn't get in the way of how the tool feels or is used. I like the location. The XR lock opens quickly and the knife fully engages. The blade is made from D2 steel and the handle is GRN with as I mentioned before, an aggressive grip. There's also a functional pocket clip and a loop to put a lanyard.

Featuring a glass breaker on the end, I'd put this into the rescue knife category. This is a serious knife meant for serious situations.

3 different blades available: Clip point, clip point partially serrated, & tanto.

The price will come in around $105 USD.

You could be in the swamp with gooey, muddy hands, and youère likely not going to drop this knife!

Living on a farm, I use belt cutters a lot for baler twine. Not only that, but they are a good way to rip through a lot of packaging without either cutting you, or damaging what you're extricating.  And, instead of a tiny, proprietary razor blade (though some I've seen use sections of snap-off utility knife blade, but are hard to get at when they dull--my Eickhorn uses no less than 6 handle screws) it uses a cutout in the handle, allowing the blade to do the cutting, with the handle guarding the edge.

And that texturing pattern... Awesome. I'm sure wet, slimy, greasy, covered in diesel, whatever hands should have no trouble gripping it. I am really liking these folders. The lack of blatant branding really helps.

I love this, but I wish it weren't assisted. I wonder if it would be easy to deassist...
