Keeping my fingers crossed for the return of 84mm scissors...

If this Farmer X news is indeed true, then it would definitely be a welcome addition... I know a lot of members here have been asking for this... I know I’m definitely getting one for my collection...

and maybe another one for a mod... say adding an inline phillips and a metal file... at least it helps to keep costs down by sacrificing lesser SAKs. Instead of getting a Pioneer X for the scissors and a Farmer or two for the wood saw and back spring(s)...

2016 saw the release of the Pioneer X, maybe 2020 for the Farmer X... Hope we don’t have to wait another 4 years or more for the Cadet X to show up...

How would they do a Cadet X if they haven't been making 84mm scissors for ages?

By making 84mm scissors. :D
It's one tool, Mechy, how hard can it be?
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

That would be nice, too.

Just call it "Farmer XP". If you include also the magnifying glass and the screwdriver you would get the "Farmer Vista". Add another layer and you'll get the "Farmer 7".

Ulzhan, looks as if you are secretly hoping for a Farmer XLT

They probably don't want to cannibalize the 85 mm Delemont line. At least as far as I am concerned, the availability of scissors is their USP (the Evowood handles are great too)

Sadly, with bloatware, the knife would grow to over 600mm long. It would also frequently stop working for no reason, and you'd have to keep closing it and reopening it again.

And an open source version that is slightly more reliable and faster will come along. Only catch is that it can't cut certain materials.

I haven't found any more info, does anyone think Vic might make an announcement at a trade show? Maybe Blade Show in June?

It's also got me thinking what other tools they might be thinking of adding, but that could be wishful thinking.

Thanks for the update Jayaman, and the pics! Am I the only one also interested in the Damast for 2020? I’d love to know more as I quite like my Pro Hunter with red scales and I’ll repeat Jayaman’s pic suitably rotated,

For me as an Aloxoholic, every new Alox model is a feast. A FarmerX would be great. A FarmerX Damascus would be a collector's dream. The best would be Victorinox brings both.   :dd:

I wish they made a Pioneer XP (scissors and pliers), and a Pioneer Ranger (scissors, saw and metal file). And the same in Cadet!

Now then. I would love the Hunter Pro in the red/blue/green alox but, given that like you, I live in the UK (and the whole locking blade thing is an issue  :dunno:) I would prefer a Hunter Pro M.

I might as well have OHO (which is not an issue and not in need of further justification) if I'm carrying a locking blade
They don't like it up 'em!

SurgeUk - definitely one to keep at home, and it was even odder buying mine from the Vic shop in central London! Still the pyramid Damascus blade is something to behold - found a video on YouTube (search for Victorinox Neuheiten 2020 and you should find it) - sadly it’ll probably cost a packet, The farmer X would also appear to be real, so I might add one of those to the, cough, “collection” too.....it’s going to a pricey 2020.....

Kudos for finding a video!    :woohoo:

Looks like the rumor is true, so now it's a waiting game.
