In this time of global home isolation. It seemed like a good idea to look at daily cary.

Like many, I grab a knife from a box. What I grab depends on the day. My mood. What I am working on, etc. Some I Cary frequently. Others only on rare occasions.

I've never been a fan of tactical. I think it shows. Unless you count the doul douk or Mercator. But I don't.

I've changed the scales on the 1908, 2 climbers and the explorers. Many of the knives were gifted. Others have lived lives before my hands. But all get used. All are sharp.
And I rarely am found wanting.

Most of mine are "archived". Squirelled away as spares, until any of the ones I've left out are lost, broken, stolen, confiscated or otherwise conked out.

The attached pic is what's left out for general use. There are a couple more fixed blades, but they're not to hand. There's also a Vic Tourist which resides in the kitchen drawer, and a Compact which lives in a first aid kit.

I would never have the need to Cary a big fixed blade. Mostly a 3-4 in blade max for any purpose. Unless I'm hunting.

Do you use it often.?

I used be more active than I am now, so usage has dropped. Breaking big boxes down is a lot easier with a longer slicing edge. Aside from that, I do sometimes use them in the kitchen, or if going to a friend's or family member's BBQ or something, when I know their kitchen knives are going to be duller than spoons. I also might take one as a food prep knife if going on a walk. I don't like using folders for food prep. Also, I reach for a fixed blade when many might reach for a locking blade. If a slippie can't handle it, I reach straight for a fixed blade.

Nice collection. I do like the buck 112. It just feels like the right size. I struggle to carry it because it needs the sheath. I actually bought a clip to fasten to the bolster but I haven't got the time at the moment to try and attach.

I always love the look of the black alox with red shield. But the prices are too much for me.

What's the one at the top. Is it a Schrade?
