The notch on the end opposite the 1/4 hex to me indicates this fits a specific faster we of some kind.

It is an old knob and tube wiring wrench?

So something to adjust the trigger pull?

My first guess was valve extension or valve tool....then you said firearms....but the trigger is not exactly in the "area" of sights...so not sight adjustment....Perhaps a tool for disassembly...but you said not for fasteners?
