Old Cross 30 Day Challenge
« on: April 28, 2020, 09:22:25 PM »
Hi everyone. Would there be any interest in doing a 30-day challenge for all Old Cross SAKs? It looks like October might be open. OC October has a nice ring to it. We could run it simultaneously to another challenge, but I don't want to take participants away from other challenges or prohibit those who have already committed to another challenge from joining. Any thoughts on timing?

I am not sure if this idea will get any traction. I know many folks, including myself, have a difficult time using their precious OC models on a regular basis. I guess that's what makes it a challenge though! I think it would make for some great photos.

I’ll watch from the sidelines G-Dizzle. I only have one OC that’s mint, so I‘m just not brave enough to carry it for a month. If I could find another by October though...

Only a maybe for me...October seems soooooooooooooooooo far away!  :dunno:

But I’d probably be tempted by a new OC-30 badge.

I thought the same, but was trying not to conflict with other planned challenges. If the general consensus is to move it up thats fine. We can try to get people’s opinion as they join.

I'm in. Two of the three I own are pretty much filler condition, so they can be used and carried

October is getting near, and I’ve finally found another Old Cross to help me with this challenge - a Pioneer!

Looking forward to this!   Can we define "old cross?"  I have a bunch of old cadets, voyageurs, pioneers, and soldiers that all have obsolete crosses on them.  Are these all fair game?

Excellent question. For example, this is what I’m carrying today. Would it qualify?

In any case, count me in.

Exactly.  I'm not the originator, but my preference would be to interpret it broadly so we get to see more old SAKs!

For the record, I'm game, and I plan to participate, however broad or narrow the criteria regarding color or size.

What say ye, G-Dizzle?

Hey y’all! I’m all for a broad interpretation of “Old Cross.” The more the merrier! Sorry for the delayed response.

I’ve yet to participate in a 30-day challenge, but I’m looking forward to this.

I’m trying to decide whether to carry a single OC Pioneer for the month or to switch it up.
