Good job Barry - nobody likes having loose stools!

Hahaha!

Thanks for the pics of the technician Myron, its fantastic.  Can you date it using the scraper/notch combo?  I'm not very good at that yet.

Well, *very* approximately.  The presence of the scraper blade and wire bender on one tool was a thing from ca. 1951 to 1980, and the Elinox tang stamp was in use within that range, from 1957-1974, or thereabouts.

I wish I knew more about Swiss Railways and when they were issuing tools such as this.  I love this knife.

Ok thanks Myron! It's a beauty.

Day 22

Using the bottle opener to pry the vacuum apart.  I was up sucking up drywall dust, it's so fine I guess it clogged things up.

Many thanks, knifecoop! Good score!

Day 22

OC Pioneer’s main blade gained access to a package dropped off by my Postie today - a Parker 75 Premier fountain pen and ballpoint got off the usual suspect - the FP has a bent clip, but should be fixable with a little care, though the dents to the ballpoint look a little harder to fix.... Still I’m really interested in the FP. Both need a careful and thorough clean, and I’ve some NOS 18k nibs inbound from Battersea Pen Home to extend the scope - broad nibs are a bit too big for my writing.
Now you just need the pencil!

Day 22: The only downside to Alox knives is the absence of a toothpick—a tool I routinely use. Thankfully, the remedy to this shortcoming is often at-hand.

Very nicely done, Frailer!

Today I think I had literally zero uses of my knife.  I am now enjoying a bourbon out of my favorite cup, which was gifted to me by @HolyDeuce and made right here in my hometown of Grand Rapids, Mich.  So, just a glamour shot of my Swiss Rail Technician and a couple other Soldiers that arrived the other night.  They are a W-K stamped 83, which I already had but it has a very strange laser engraving on the blade, and a '71 with horizontal W-K, the rarest in my experience (the others from this year being clockwise rotation and counterclockwise rotation).   Both of these old Model 1961's are in minty fresh condition.

A 15 hour day, again, dark when I left and dark when I got home.  So, here's another picture of lunch.

Never come across one tbh - I think pencils are the least available Parkers as most go for a FP, BP or RB in preference. The only Parker pencil I have is a Sonnet Chinese lacquer I got to go with the FP and BP as a set back in the 1990s when they came out, and very nice it is too!

Wow again, Myron- great scores  I didn’t know the horizontal ‘71 was rare as I have one - I got it from Glenfiddich1983 a few years ago as my first Soldier.

Day 23

Package arrived from the Battersea Pen Home - NOS nibs in18k, an extra fine and a broad italic (and a spare clip, cos you never know!) - OC Pioneer’s awlsome awl did the konours. The pens have cleaned up nicely, and the new nib works well though I may give it a few passes on a 10,000 waterstone to remove a slight scratch - interestingly it seems much the same line as my 75 fine nib in 14k which is as smooth as butter, but then I’ve used it since 1987 when I got it! I managed to get the bend out of the clip ok using the Vic pliers on my CT41 mod - may have a further tweak when I’m feeling braver (sometimes the fatigue makes them a bit brittle). I’ve given the BP to my better half - a COVID safe pen to use when she’s out and about in London at work!

Day 23 - the OC Pioneer is going to do some "hot" work prepping some peppers (Carolina Reaper and Cayenne) that I grow in my garden. I had a good crop this year! The OC will need a good bath after cutting the Reapers, I'll be wearing rubber gloves, the Reapers are the worlds hottest pepper and are extremely spicy/painful to eat and if you get any of their juice on your skin it may cause irritation.

Cheers!

Day 23: Cutting the back off of an old microwave cart so I could take it apart.  It was pasteboard so it cut easily.

Oh they look nice, Frailer and Myron - I’ll have to look them up :like: :like: :like:

Here is the full Parker 75 set, next to one of my OC's. Day 23

Now that is a lovely full set of 75s, munsonhsr  as I’m sure you know, the 75 Premier is essentially the same section and nib, just a slightly longer and fatter barrel and cap - I only found this out recently  :facepalm  The 75 is my favourite Parker - it just clicked with me in 1987 when I got my first one, after 12 years of wearing a 25 down from a fine nib to a broad! I’ve yet to see a 75 premier pencil, though I know they were made. In the ‘50s and earlier, a set was an FP and a PP (propelling pencil), later the BP was added, and then the RB, and the PP tended to be dropped - much harder to find. So your set of all 4 of silver ciselé 75s is quite something to behold  :hatsoff: Many thanks for sharing!

I carried a Fisher Space pen for years, but they always frustrated me. The ink globs, they’re not especially durable, and the ergonomics don’t suit me at all.

I finally bought a brass Machine Era Classic at a friend’s recommendation, and it was love at first sight. In fact, less than a week later I bought its stainless counterpart. I can’t believe these are as inexpensive as they are.

G-Dizzle, I hope you and the wife feel better soon.   Your dog does have good taste in knives.
Tet, you could as easily have said it being Tuesday is a good excuse for going fishing and smoking a cigar.
The pens look awesome and so do all the knives I've seen so far in this thread.

Day 23
I wish I could take some better pictures but I have zero time for creative or leisure pursuits until after the election.
