Man that is one sexy looking TJ!

I love that desert color too

And I’m not sure who came up with the spelling “Schnapps” ....we spell it “snaps” in Danish at least ...I think it’s spelled “snaps” in Dutch and German as well (maybe speedy can confirm that?)

Thanks!

Hmmm, I'm not sure.  I think I've only ever seen it spelt schnapps here.

I guess in some ways it can be compared to this thing my grand father gave to me.

I guess it’s called an electric screwdriver?

(Image removed from quote.)

The air ratchet certainly has more torque than this electric screwdriver, but they both turn around the same speed.

I only really use the electric screwdriver for interior work, where it has actually proven itself quite handy, and is has less fatigue on my hands / wrist as well.

It seem to be inferior in pretty much everywhere else I have used it, except for putting together ikea furniture (but only in tight spaces) otherwise my 18v DEWALT Drill supersedes in every way (not that should came as a surprise anyway).

Likewise; I don’t expect these air ratchets to replace any of my manual ratchets / my impact gun or any of my electric tools. But I can see the air ratchet come in handy when doing engine, brake or suspension work (where I will be working in tight spaces) and it will have less fatigue on my hands / wrists too.

I used my 1/4" and 3/8" air ratchets today working on the Jeep.  The 1/4" for taking the calipers off, and the 3/8" for taking the starter bolts out, and the hub bolts.  And yes, they are slow tools!

I have carpal tunnel (and unknown soft tissue damage), so my hands fatigue and cramp up really fast and easily, so I try and use air whenever I can.

A bit of a ghettofabulous repair / solution, but I feel a lot safer with it this way, and that is the main thing.

Since there’s supposed to be a plastic shield going over the fan (which is missing from my Jeep for some reason) and the hose for the coolant reservoir was just zip tied in place right in front of the fan.

I used the upper radiator mount bolts to secure the hose using some HD wire holders.

(Image removed from quote.)

The hose is a lot more secure now, and is moved on top of the radiator, instead of the fan side.

(Image removed from quote.)

I think this is a better solution, but I am no engineer.

Either way, the hose is now moved away from the fan, and not a few centimeters directly in front of it.......again; it’s not going to win any car show prices ...and is arguably not the correct way to do it...but I feel safer driving with the hose securely mounted away from the radiator, and that is the main thing.

Let the hate begin!
Have you noticed any overheating issues with the fan shroud missing?

That sucks man, is that anything you can get treatment for?

Have you thought of trying out an electric ratchet as well or are you perfectly fine with your air tools?

Time to go on the sofa and relax for the rest of the evening
Need to rest my knee and foot as I had a nasty fall last night  >:(
My foot just folded and I lost my balance
This has happened a couple of times now  :ahhh

If it happens again I will be going to the doctors

Sorry to hear about your foot speedy, hope you get better soon

Not at all, not even remotely.

It’s not really a full shroud on the ZJ, it’s just a top cover to protect against the fan.

Thanks!

The hand speSmurfpillst doesn't think it's bad enough to operate on.  I go back in October for more nerve checks, and if it's any worse than last time, they said they'd operate.

I would love to have one of the Milwaukee ones, but I can't really justify the cost of it.  If I needed to use these tools on the go, then I would invest in them, but since I do all my work in my garage, I'll stick with air for now. :)

Okay, I hope that they will take a proper look at it in October and take appreciate actions on it.

I am the same as you, I only work on my Jeep at home, and I can’t justify the price of the Milwaukee ones.

That’s why I was looking at just getting a cheap one off like AliExpress or EBay.

There’s one called “PROSTORMER” on AliExpress that gets pretty good ratings and will ship from both Spain and the USA, and you can get it with EU, UK and US plugs.

It’s only like 50 bucks with to batteries.

That’s what I would get just to try one out.....not now but at a later point.

Let me see if I can find the link to one...

This one...

Edit: that didn’t work....stupid AliExpress app

Try this:

I can’t get the links to work from the app; if you go on AliExpress and search for code #Bk003Ls8#

It works in the app at least
