We watched Black Swan at the Powernoodle Compound.  Being an artsy f@rtsy piece about a ballerina who descends into madness, its not easy to rate.  All of the acting was excellent IMO.  This was Natalie Portman's best work, though that's not saying much since her Star Wars period was an abomination.  Mila Kunis (you will replace the K with a P after watching the movie) was excellent.  Loved the confidence and carefree spirit of her character.  Black Swan was sort of a precursor to Birdman in terms of its kookiness.  The naughty scenes caused one of my group to leave the room, though the primary adult scene turned out to be a mere delusion.  I did how enjoy seeing these actresses drop below 100 lbs. to be ballerinas - so thin that you could count their internal organs through their skin.  Mila Kunis said it took 6 months of eating 1200 calories per day to lose 20 lbs. for the movie, and 5 minutes to gain it back gorging on mac and cheese.

Powernoodle rating:  9.3/10 for the acting; 10/10 for the adult scenes, or 0/10 depending on your perspective; 7/10 overall.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)

Ehh... it was alright. It had it's occasional funny moment and the action was predictable. I'm not a huge Transformers movie fan though.

6/10

I will agree on the Transformers movies.  Not a huge fan.  The Dirty Dozen was a good movie.  Haven't seen it in quite a while.  Blue Beetle used to be an old radio program.  The radio program was ridiculous, but probably entertaining for the year it was produced.  I am enjoying all the reviews.
I am a huge old time radio fan and have listened to hundreds of episodes.  Maybe thousands.  I just finished listening to the old time Light's Out programs by Arch Oboler.  Not bad for something about 80 years old.  Best wishes.  G

War of the Colossal Beast 1958  Giant spiders, giant shrews, giant bugs in the 50s.  This one is the sequel to The Amazing Colossal Man 1957.  First movie wasn't scary.  Last one would have given a 9-year-old IMR bad dreams.  Schlock movie but sort of fun.  Best wishes.  G ;)

Out of Sight (1998)  with George Clooney

Okay-ish movie I guess but even George couldn't keep my interest so I got bored half way through and went to bed. I would probably enjoy it if I was less tired.

The Boss Lady likes to watch all the Hallmark Christmas movies.  Don't get me wrong, I like Christmas movies too, but Hallmark is in a rut with their plots.
Guy/girl goes somewhere for Christmas.
Meets girl/guy and falls in love.  Then at the hour and 40-45 minute mark something happens to throw the romance a curve.  Then right at the end it gets resolved.

Well, this year, with so many to choose from I DVR'd some to look at between Christmas and New Year's.

Much to my surprise they had one that strayed from the pattern.
Mystery at Mistletoe Manor.   I found it to be fairly enjoyable for a change and would definitely give it an 8+.
Addicted to sharp pointy things.
