The Call of Cthulhu  2005.  Black and white.  Silent movie.  H.P. Lovecraft stuff is hard to make a movie from.  This was a very good rendition of the Cthulhu mythos.  Best wishes.  Gary

Just watched “Race” and it was a great movie in my opinion.

It is advertised as being about Jesse Owens as he prepares for the 1936 Olympics.  What I really like is that the movie touches on how different issues and relationships impact him.  Ot does good at covering the political climate surrounding Nazi Germany ad the Olympics without allowing it to take over.

Ready or Not  2019. Bride marries into a very eccentric family.  Not quite a slasher movie, but rough anyway.  It is actually an entertaining flick.  Best wishes.  G

I caught the first 3 episodes last night.  I think it is as good as season 1, yet season 2!can confusing as it flashing back to fill holes in story line of season.

The future story line does appear very fresh and progress nicely.  If I counted correctly, the episodes caught up on four of the story lines in progress from season 1. Or was there 5…😉

When my hearing aid battery fades away at the start of a movie, it stops s SILENT MOVIE to me.

At home I can enable close captioning!  At the theater no so, and you can not ask for your money back, just grin and bear it🥺

WoW... "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" was really good. Even though it was released this year (2024) the story comes before "Mad Max: Fury Road" which was released in 2015. It explains Fury Road. Excellent acting, story, Super Effects things that made me think "that was cool!" and I've seen a lot of action movies.

The order I think all the Mad Max movies are (correct me if I'm wrong or missed anything)
Mad Max 1978
Mad Max 2/Road Warrior 1981
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome 1985
Mad Max: Fury Road 2015 (which takes place before the next Mad Max)
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024 (which should be before Fury Road)
Mad Max: The Wasteland supposed next movie unreleased

note: HBO/MAX is free to YouTubeTV subscibers "who have the NFL Sunday Ticket" (at least in U.S.) for 4 months!
how I got to see the ones I've missed.

A Town Called H*ll  1971 Spaghetti Western.  Great cast.  Should have been a really good movie but turned out to be just okay.  These sorts of western movies are invariably very violent.  Best wishes.  G

Emma 2016.   Several movies with this title.  This is the one with a non-responsive girl who comes home after an auto accident.  Her mother tries to talk with her in one scene.  Calls her Emma, then forgets her line and calls her Ella.  Find something else to watch.  Best wishes.  G

Hang 'em High  1968.  I got tired of watching mediocre and worse movies.  This one is a don't miss.  Try to find a version that doesn't have scenes cut out of it.  The one I saw was edited.  It was still good.  Best wishes.  G

Beetlejuice #2, the kid took us to the movies yesterday, not bad a few good laughs but not as god as the original, I’d give it a 6/10,,

Inferno  1980.  Dario Argento.  Sort of a slasher movie.  I watched it in stages since it was too aggravating to watch in one sitting.  Cat lover alert.  Best wishes.  G

We saw the new Beetlejuice movie last weekend. Meh, it was okay; Keaton did well, Ryder was a neurotic mess and not fun at all, too many stories at once and not enough time to really care about any of them. Jenna Ortega was almost a cardboard cutout, and Katherine O'Hara was annoying. And the whole thing with Jeffrey Jones character was ridiculous. 4/10

A Fire in the Sky  1978.   Loooong movie about how a comet hits Phoenix.  The city Phoenix, not my unseen neighbor.  The first sentence pretty well covers it.  Now you don't have to watch it.  Lots of '70s disaster movies.  Some worse than others.  I think I saw this one back in the day.  Best wishes.  G

A Fire in the Sky  1978.

There's another movie called Fire In The Sky that came out in the 80s or 90s, about a forestry worker being abducted by aliens. It has a chilling sequence near the end...
I recommend it.

Skyggenes Dal  2017.  Norwegian with English subs.  Beautiful movie.  If you need crashing cars, a terrified young woman running headlong through the woods, or blowing stuff up; this isn't it.  Young boy thinks a werewolf is eating the neighbor's sheep.  When his dog goes missing, he decides to find him or at least see if the werewolf has killed him.  English title Valley of Shadows.  Best wishes.  G
