Pi  1998.   Genius mathematician searches for the number that will explain it all.  A dysfunctional hermit who lives in a room full of computers.  Actually an interesting movie.  Might not appeal to all.  Best wishes.  G

The Mrs and I watched “ Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” the 4th to the collection, I watched 1-3 a little bit ago cause you know you have to watch from the beginning if a new one comes out right? Anyway, from all the stopping between part to part a 2hr movie tuned into roughly 4hrs, but I must say as soon as we hit play, lol,   that was us, I mean come on, it’s freaking Eddie Murphy, the nice thing about the movie was the cast, had to have the original three, the one arresting officer who arrests axle is actually his real life daughter, unlike in the movie where someone else plays his daughter.. solid 10/10 if you need a good laugh! Heck even the Mrs said she’d be interested in a number 2,

Morrocco 1930 with Gary Cooper and Marlene Dietrich.  Follows the formula of Legionnaire meets lounge singer.  I really enjoyed this picture. Give it a solid 8 out of 10.

Secondhand Lions (2003j.

I thought it was a good movie.  It had some touching drama with some nice laughs mixed in.

A favorite of mine!   Just watched again this past week, before it leaves TUBI!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Also,  since I can now see again!

Watched the MECHANIC remake with Jason Statham, 2011.
As good as the original Charles Bronson version.

And, also found a great mystery type film I had never heard of till it was suggested.

2005, CHAOS, an action/thriller.   A very early Jason Statham film who plays a cop and is paired with a rookie.  A must watch till the end. 👍👍👍👍

SINU, 2023,  action, Finland. Nice knife action, authentic PACU.
Set at end of WWIi, Nazis retreating from Finland, leaving destruction, and death.
Encounters an old man, a prospector and his gold.  A old LEDGEND.
Well done, little script, toe curling scenes.   👍👍👍👍R

Gotcha Gordon.  The autocorrupt always bares its teeth when I write Opinel.  It wants to change it to opine.  Also simple easily understood terms like Werecoyote.  How did your latest eye work go?  Best wishes.  G

This Tuesday it will be two weeks!

Healing nicely per my doctor.

Both eye lenses now replaced I am 20/20 for far sighted vision.

Currently using readers for reading, 2.50+, but vision is off for the 2 feet to 5 feet range, so must exercise caution.   Or wear my old progressive glasses.

Must wait about 3 weeks for eye exam to determine new nearsighted correction.   Thinking new progressive glasses will compensate adequately.

I am still amazed how dark my vision was by the cataracts.  Now it is like the contrast and color adjusts are now set at “11”!

Glad you're on the mend!

Last night we watched 1978's "Foul Play" with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. Goldie Hawn back then.....whew so easy on the eyes.  Funny screwball comedy, easy to recommend.

Curse of the Faceless Man  1958.  Typical 1950's drive-in movie.  All you needed was a poodle-skirted cutie and a box of popcorn in the front seat of the family Oldsmobile.  She would hide her face in your shirt until the 'scary' parts were over.  Best wishes.  G

Wow!  I would have been 5 when that movie made the rounds!
Why would I need a POODLE in a skirt?

The Birds  1963.  A Hitchcock masterpiece.  I hadn't seen this in ages and had forgotten every bit of it.  For some reason I thought Jimmy Stewart was in this.  Flying an old biplane.  Nope.  Best wishes.  G

In preparation to watch the new Jurassic installment, I streamed the previous two films.

Even knowing what expect, and on the small screen, these still were intense.

Both good, and Dino’s so well animated.

The Birds, was one of first  Hitchcock movies I ever saw.  And, I have seen it maybe 6 times or more.

Just like John Carpenter’s adaptation of the THING, just sit on your edge thriller.

Both as Directors were craftsmen telling a story via film.
