The arctic is visiting us from the north. The temp is -10°F and supposed to drop to -32° by wednesday overnight. They have closed the schools through Thursday  :facepalm:

They never closed school around here when I was growing up. Now we get a bit of snow and cold weather and boom ...closed.   :think:

Well, it stopped snowing last night, I had to run out to clean the driveway really quick so the kid could pull his car in, only problem was it was raining since the temp got up into the 30’s and it was pure ice on the ground! But it worked, I also did a quick cleaning on all the sidewalks then sprinkled salt,  yet it doesn’t look like I did a thing,
It says it’s only 15°f out yet the winds are nasty, the little squirrels out picking at the corn I put out for him in the tree and his furs blowing so bad I’m surprised he isn’t blown out of the tree!
   A lot of schools closed but the little guys didn’t, now tomorrow and Thursday might be diff with the temp dropping into the negatives,, guess we’ll see..

Woooow,
The little guy text mom, he said “tell dad he better go out and take care of those sidewalks,” he slipped on every inch of sidewalk alllll the way to school! So I went out and scrapped what I could with the shovel and salted everything else. I even found one spot that was pure ice, so I doubled down on the salt!
     As far as that weather goes, wooow, that winds brutal! Once I ate the snow, I took a small shovel full and went to toss it and it came right back at me, yuck! And I just heard a loud bang, I’m going to guess that was the shovel I left on the back porch..

I don’t think the little guys going to have school the next two day cause temps are going to dip into the negitives, but with the windchill it’s suppose to go down to -33°f(-36°c)

I must say that salt worked pretty good, I see concrete, except in the one spot, I think I’m going to have to go back out and re-salt it..

WOW!
I just went out to take care of that one piece of ice in the sidewalk, took the hammer and tried breaking it up, got most of it and kicked it off the sidewalk, then put a lot of salt over the rest but OMG, my hands are frozen, it’s 13°f(-10c) and it’s not to bad, but as soon as that wind ripped through it was like razor blades, I was only out there for 5min yet it felt like 30, I still got to take the trash out, brrr..
