Leatherman Damascus blade and BO Core......
on: April 06, 2020, 10:43:57 PM
As above......

I'm looking for leatherman Damascus blades.

Ive never been able to find one that doesn't appear to be a 'second' with fit and finish issues. I don't mind used, but would like it to fit well and be in good overall condition. (I know I'm probably asking for a lot here lol!)

Also need a black oxide leatherman core. Either new or lightly used.

Thanks. 👍🏻

I really wish I'd have bought some of the TTC Damascus blades before they closed down!

RicHT, I have a TTC Lone Ninja Edition Skeletool with the Damascus blade. I’m not sure if you’d be interested, or the specifics, but send me a PM if you want to discuss a trade or purchase.

What is the story with that one?

Not a perfect fit I'm afraid. The original Signal blade has an offset grind to accommodate the awl. The TTC one does not have that offset. When I fitted the Wave blade I had a similar problem, but could remove enough of the awl to keep it useful and still use the Wave blade. I did have to add an additional spacer. The TTC blade did not fit and I would have had to remove more of the awl, which I really don't want to do. Being Damascus it also does not open in a smooth motion as the blade is a bit like sand paper. So sadly it is in the parts-bin, pity though, it is a beautiful blade. There is a thickness difference too, with the TTC blade being just sort of 1mm thinner.

In hindsight I should have bought the MUT blade, I don't think I would have had the same problem.

Pete

I wonder if it would fit in a OHT? Hmmm. Price?
