Well well, someone’s got a new name, this is Rosy’s fav spot to sit, well besides the couch or the dog bed on the floor while she chews on one of the bones or toys. So since she loves to sit here and keep watching everything and everyone, because there’s a large tree about 15ft away and the squirrels run it daily, and there’s also a sidewalk like right out the window and people walk it all the time with their dogs, let alone in the park or hockey rink right across the street, we’ve decided to change her name to “Nosy Rosy” :dunno:

Catherine was very ready for a new family member.   She asked me which breed I liked and if I had a preference.  I love small dogs.  My bestie was a Chihuahua mix.  I love Yorkies and Pomeranians.  Pretty much any small breed is lovely to me. 

She began her search in about November.   She'd show me ones that she thought could be a good fit.  She wanted a rescue so her hunt was local rescues and the humane society as well as those who were looking to re-home their pets.  There are a lot of wonderful animals out there.   

One day she says she thinks she found the perfect dog.  I was working so she texted me saying she made an appointment to meet the person and dog.  This was just before Xmas.   She went with her son who was home from Army training. 

I get a picture of this potential pup and thats all.  I then get a picture of her with the pup in her lap in the car  :o.  I was busy at work so I wasn't really paying attention. 

I get home and sure enough she had the pup with her.  Its a Yorkshire terrier/ Chihuahua mix.  The woman recently moved here with this pup but unfortunately was not able to keep her.  She was interviewing people to re-home her baby and Catherine happened to be the one she trusted.  The woman got her as a puppy so she was very sad to let her go but had to.   

She's a fast learner so as of now she is potty trained to go outside.  She is sitting, mostly staying, coming when called, standing up, leaving things when told, and walking on lead at heel pretty well.  She is very treat motivated which is great. 

She's been a fun new family member who is very attached to Catherine.  She's 7 months young and her name is Margo.  She affectionate and curious.  Like most little ones she's underfoot constantly so we are all learning to be mindful each other.  She's crate trained as well tho she's not had to stay too long in it.   

Man I forget how much energy a pup has.  She loves her yard (she was a apartment dog).  There is grass and space to run and explore her new home.  The back neighbor has a Rottweiler and Pitbull so I've introduce her by brining her to the fence so they can smell her.  She's friendly tho hesitant at first so we are working on that.  We still need to get her more comfortable being around other dogs which are also working on.     

We are no longer empty nesters.  Introducing Margo our Chorkie.  She is hard at work with Catherine today  :D
