Yesterday my lovely girl Coco passed gently and quietly in my arms. I’m completely heartbroken but she gave me nothing but joy and love and she’ll forever be in my heart and memories

I made the decision last week and got to spend a magical four extra days with her, albeit bittersweet.

She was still able to run down to the street (about 50 metres) a bit wobbly but she loved a good sniff about, a bark at the neighbours and a roll on the grass so you couldn’t stop her.

She also loved her food and snacks, from December 2011 when she first came to live with me until yesterday, she was incorrigible

I took her to the vet every 3 weeks for jabs for her arthritis, we went last Tuesday and they told me how good she was looking, which she was.

I’ve known for a few months her time was near so kept the vet and dog owning friends close to advise me. All agreed she was still happy, not exhibiting any worrying symptoms and surprisingly healthy, vet described her as a miracle, but also very old for a big dog, ridgeback cross mastiff.

Last week for the first time I noticed a little change and although subtle I knew. I booked an end of life vet for her who come to the house and are very caring. She was very peaceful and as unbelievably sad as I feel I know it was right.

Rest in peace my lovely old hound

I’m so sorry, we had to put our first dog down on Nov 1st back in 2013, and on the way to the vet there was a Burger King, as she held him I ran in and got a cheese burger, just a little something for him to enjoy, but then came the hard part as we sat on the floor, I’m so sorry I can only imagine how your feeling cause I can still see the look on the Mrs face. But Coco is better now after crossing the rainbow bridge, take care buddy and rip Coco!

I took that pic blind since I had to raise my pad above my head because Rosy is so far up my butt, thus why her nose is cut off, the color is because of the strip lighting we have around the ceiling, you can change the color to anything, we also have it in the living room, it’s great since it’s led and can adjust it to whatever, it’s also plugged into a command outlet controlled by Alexa, so just ask her to turn them on or off, no need for switches! We used to live in a park trailer, bedrooms at both ends, so I ran a strip light around the living room, through the kitchen and straight to the bathroom, stayed on all night if either of us or the kids had to go to the bathroom or kitchen for a drink there was no need to turn the bright lights on making it easy on the eyes!

THE most fought over "toy" is a face cloth tied in a knot.  It should also be noted that there are two of these cloths but that doesn't stop the bickering. :D
