Question about the Victorinox Alox series
on: January 04, 2009, 02:05:30 AM
I was wondering...how resistant to scratches are the pocket SAK Alox series, not only the silver but the orange or pink. I´m thinking in a gift to my wife and I guess it would be among keys and many other objects in her purse.
Should I buy some holder also? Thanks in advance.

My wife has used hers everyday since Christmas.  She runs the day to day work of he farm and uses it hard.  No problem with scratches so far.

Yeah they doe scratch up pretty quick, but it's not a problem if you like them to look worn in :), the silver Alox definetly look's the best used though.

I'm going to move this to the Swiss forum so you'll get some more answers mate :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

I am not convinced that wives would also categorize the colour flaking off their colorful toys as "just character" though.

It might not get banged around as much in a purse as it would in a pocket next to some keys though.  ???

Thank you :tu:

I think the same way, I don´t mind scratches due to good use in my tools but since this is a gift to my wife ... you know, some women don´t think the same way. (oooh I´m a genius)

I'm wonder just how much of a bashing it would take in a purse as well.  I seems to me that most of the damage is done when the SAK is rubbing up against the coins/keys.  Much less of a problem in a woman's purse I should think.

Mission accomplished!
Turned out my wife loved it as soon as she got it and of course she didn´t expect it at all...so you can count with a new female member in the huge Victorinox family.
She asked me to add it to her keychain so...let´s see how this miniSAK and the keys live together (btw there were only pink and blue in the store, no silver) :tu:
