ranger options?
on: January 04, 2009, 05:04:24 PM
I really like the ranger line with the longer blades. a year ago I bought what I think were the larges two available at the time. I bought the mode with scissors, saw, knife, and screwdriver. I also bought the model with plier, knife, small knife, awl, and two screwdrivers. the pliers seemed nice but they don't open wide enough for any nuts or bolts. has anyone else noticed that?
other than the swiss grip is there another ranger with more impliments.

Big-Target did a thread about the same complaint that had some pictures in.  They did seem to open very little.

I had a Ranger (175 I think) with the fold out pliers...I traded it for a BO Spirit if I remember correctly with J-Sews.  The Ranger was a great design...but in reality I woulden't use it for much, and it was too thick for what it offered IMO.  There are better and more compact tools out there that do more.

The Ranger with the most tools is the Alinghi.

If the screwdriver is a Phillips,  that would be a New Ranger 172.
