I already have too many saws on my tools that I never have a reason to use

The PX might happen at some point this year though now my enjoyment of SAKs have been rekindled by you money hating folks

I have the same problem - I have accumulated way too many saws for the Farmer X to get in on the action.  The Farmer X would displace my OHT, which I haven't quite had enough of yet.

Day 23

Pioneer X scissors to open snacks, and the awl to remove the plastic seal from a cap off a bottle of juice

:think:Here's a question for all you Pioneer X users

If you could only add one tool to the Pioneer - would it be the scissors vs the saw?  Has Victorinox already released the only two useful additions to the Pioneer or is there something else you can think of?

Noting that they would have to be full-size tools - only the scissors, saw, file, pliers, and scaler are options as far as I can tell.

I'm sure many would like an inline Phillips.

But if you could swap out the scissors for one thing - what would it be.

Personally, I can't think of anything

If I hadto swap the scissors for one thing, it would be the saw.  But if you were asking me if I would rather have a Farmer or a PX and could only have one it would be the PX.  Although I have noticed that I've been surprised I haven't used the scissors as much as I imagined I would.  Scissors have always felt to me like they're indispensable.  Maybe I'm just at home, who knows?  I must say I am very excited about the Farmer X, since I do have use for both and I'll be happy to have them all together.  I only have one SAK with pliers and I've always felt they were a bit rinky-dinky.  I have a Leatherman wave with me when I might be needing pliers though.  Not much of a file user.

Day 23

Well, thanks to this challenge I've found another rabbit hole!  After seeing EB's P7 clip and the subsequent discussion I had to check out TEC accessories, and figured I neededto try a clip out for myself.  While I was there I found a couple of other things that I can't possibly imagine how I survived without them and neededthem too - a centipede, and a picopen.  Apparently I've got too much time on my hands being home with the covid..... At first I was telling myself that I was just spending the money I was saving by not driving every day!  Now I'm going to have to check out Surge's website with the blingy fobs.  My only hope will be if they won't ship out of the UK

And then I noticed that I was so excited to open it up that I forgot to put the SAK I used in the photo!  So here's a photo of me breaking down some boxes.

Between the PioneerX and the Farmer, I'd definitely go for the PioneerX.  The Hiker and the Trekker are similar toolsets when compared to the Farmer - and for the outdoors...  I don't think that Alox provides a substantial functional advantage over the other two, in the wild, to be honest.

My vote goes to the PX I think. Even if camping, I don't feel the need for a saw. Of course my bush crafting skills lack quite some, well skills......I mean I can make a pretty great fire with some gas and a match! :tu:

Or spark from an engine ignition source
Awlways know if the juice is worth the squeeze.

I love that awl. Why do companies keep copying the Vic can opener but not the awl?

I had internet problems last night (mysteriously gone today  :dunno: ) so couldn't upload the pic' for Day 22  ::)

None-the-less, here's the PX slicing some tomatoes that Mrs Surge required with her steak. It did a pretty good job  :tu:

What a slicer! :like:

Those look nice.  they remind me of Holland chilis which are apparently abundant in the UK... and I can't find them anywhere in the US.  Don't worry though, I wouldn't mistake a tomato for a chili.  I hope.
 They were nice  I'm big fan of chillies myself :tu:

I'm sure you wouldn't mistake a tomato for a chilli (well, not twice  :ahhh )

I was on cooking duty again yesterday so the PX helped to slice up some mushrooms (Oyster & Portobello if anyone's interested  :dunno: )
I then got sidetracked by a cider (or two) and that, as they say, was that  :drink:

So, with apologies for my tardiness, here's the "action shot"

:iagree: Unfortunately, mountains are somewhat scarce in these parts.

However, I do have to walk up 8 flights of stairs to get to my front door (but I'm not sure anyone wants/needs to see a pic' of me after that  )

So, again with the cooking  :dunno: This time she, that must be obeyed  :twak: :salute: decreed that she wanted Hoisin Duck Burgers with designer tomatoes, chilli beetroot and a small leaf salad  :ahhh

Naturally, the PX assisted with slicing & dicing etc.  :to:

Day 24

I never realized that my 15 year old mountain bike didn't really fit me until recently when age has caught up to me a bit.  My wife took pity on me and bought me a proper one for Father's Day.  I used the PX to take some tags off of a new little pouch I got for it today, but forgot to get an action shot, so here's a glamour shot of it posing in the pouch.

We used to have an Indian restaurant in town that served Kingfisher, thanks for the memories! I don’t think there’s anywhere around anymore I could get it. Although honestly I’ve never thought about it when I’ve been at the beer store.... I usually “cook” Indian once a fortnight, so I should stock up.

The scraper tool from the Spirit. Love it and use it all the time. It would probably not be full size on the PX, so would have to be adjusted or something else added.
