Return it. Call them or email them. They will fix it.

If sold and shipped by Amazon, you may be OK. If sold and shipped by one of Amazon's sub-stores (a lot Chinese), may be screwed. Hope it works out.

Is there supposed to be a toothpick in the box?  The amazon product listing says 7 fuctions but the swissarmy.com product listing says 8 functions.

Is it this one? Because that listing is incorrect, it shows a Signature Lite, which has no toothpick.

But anyways I'd say the battery should be there!
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

No matter what, the light should work on arrival.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

The questions say it comes with battery which you must install.  Check your packaging, might be in there somewhere. Also, no toothpick listed as tool.
Those little batteries (389) are available most everywhere. If you know how to install it. Maybe the lesser of two evils just to buy a battery locally?? If not, send it back to AMAZON (sold and shipped by them). If can't find battery, question response says CR1025 works fine.

i'll just buy a battery at walgreens not worth the hassle of sending it back not sure how this could have happened the box looked sealed and the knife looked new i guess somebody could have glued the box closed this is why i hate ordering from amazon every time i'm at the post office i see a line of people with amazon boxes in their hands trying to return things only reason i ordered from them is so i could pick up the package at the locker, thanks

In case you didn't see
my edit. from Amazon page questions:

"If can't find battery, question response says CR1025 works fine."

Of course I can't verify that. Don't have that knife.

CR1025 is for older variants. Newer ones are supposed to use SR1130W (different voltage). The attached Victorinox document has battery specs and replacement instructions for most of their relevant models.

In my experience, no. I’d think the tips would have to be quite bent to do that.

I am getting the feeling you received a SAK someone messed with already. The chance a SAK like that made it out of the factory is very slim. One issue maybe, but all of these? I doubt it.
I would return it and ask for a replacement. Amazon is very good exchanging damaged items.

They ban you if you order 5 TVs at once and then return 4 of them after „testing“. And rightfully so I might add. They don‘t ban you for returning a damaged item.

I've had great experiences with them.  Once a package was stolen yet only a few items were removed and then returned to our porch :dunno:.  I took pictures since it was clear someone fooled with the package.  I called CS and told them what happened, they asked what was missing and within a few days sent the items.

Fetch the item out the bin and go ahead a return it explaining what the problems are.  If you want to that is.

The people they ban are the clowns who, every time they go on holiday, buy a $1500 camera which they use the heck out of, then return on the last day of the grace period. Do this a few times and they notice you are losing them a lot of a bunch of money. Similarly if you buy lots of books, read them, and return them, as if Amazon were a library, eventually they will get cheesed off. I have heard they will send a warning letter before banning you forever, so even a chronic abuser their rules has the chance to get back into Big Jeff Bezos's good books.
If you return things you're genuinely not happy with, you're fine. I have returned dozens of purchases over the years and never had a problem.

That might be true, but his company also does a good job. They have what I want, deliver it in reasonable times and so far none of the items I ordered from them were damaged.
Other companies track records are far worse. The last two orders I made from a big hardware store both arrived damaged.

Yes, it's strange how badly other companies do when trying to compete with Jeff Co.
For instance, there is a big online bookshop here in Germany - I often order from them instead of Jeff. Then I get the note telling me it'll take 10 days for the book to arrive. Jeff sells the same book cheaper and you get it, like, tomorrow! So it's very hard to fight that particular empire.
I still have Amazon Prime, in other words!

I have to say my latest purchase from Amazon went een better than expected.

I ordered a book for my missus on Sunday night, was told to expect it by Thursday, and it arrived (in perfect condition) on Tuesday morning.  And Monday was a public holiday !

I definitely can't complain about that.
