1. What's the reason for the delay on the PowerCut?
2. When will the PowerCut be released?
3. What's the reason for the delay on the PowerCut?

After reading the last couple of pages and probably going forward for the next couple I would ask...

Since these pliers are a one of a kind in that you can take them apart, replace, and customize.  Ask him if he has given any future consideration to producing "blanks"?  Pliers come empty and "u-fill 'em" with whatever you want! ;)  Good idea?  The "SOG  U-Fill"

cheers,
Sean

I would like to get together with a few MT members here and go to SOG in Washington,
some time this year, can you ask for some "behind the scenes" passes? it would be
nice to see the umpa lumpa's at work! :D

That would be a great idea.  I know some people that have more than enough extra components lying around to build a second or third PowerLock so being able to just buy the handles and plier head and building your own MT with your extra parts would be nice.

OR, SOG could offer some sort of service where you tell them what specific components you want in your MT and they build it for you at the factory and ship it out to you.

How about this:

When are you going too be more active on Multitool.org and start giving away tools and knifes too the members?

If that isn’t a good question how about this.

You can open a SOG with one hand, how about one hand opening blades that will open from the outside??

Def see if you can find out who their UK importer/Distributor is and tell them to sack them and get someone else  >:D Why is it so hard to get replacement tools in the UK ?  Even Heinnies couldn't get me a V-cutter for a powerlock .
Also could you ask them try and improve their scissors , sorry but they suck .

What happened to the serrated line cutter accessory?   :-[ It just distaperd...

It was not very effective, I have one and it can't cut at all.  I think the V cutter has replaced it for the better.

Funny, I hated the v cutter and though it was crap, and bought a line cutter to replace it, it's great for cutting zip ties.

Although I would imagine it's more useful if they put ACTUAL serrations on it instead of just some wave, but it comes back to how a knife manufacturer skimming on blade of their multitool.

I'm with Dunc, when I got mine I couldn't cut paper or string with my scissors
and I replaced it with the V cutter, waaaay better (for cord). A new scissor design would
be appreciated.

The biggest question I want to know is why SOG haven’t gone with outside opening tools and when are they going to make their first one. I also want to know if they are coming out with one hand opening blade that not are powered by their SAT. Are they going too do something about the handles so they can remove the flaps. The scissor could need a redesign. Also need to went the idea of a SOG a la cart. How about inventing some new implements.

Can you pleas find me some free merchandise?? If not, can you buy me a Powerassist??

Spot on. You can get the replacement tools from ebay, but the shipping from the US is as much as the tools!!!!!

I fancy a go with a V-cutter too, as I agree the scissors are pants.
I used to come here a lot.

My brother ordered a molle sheath and a component for me from them and I think it's free shipping within North America.

I've ordered directly from their website a few times, usually for accessories and tool components and shipping was free.  To Canada anyways.   Customer service is pretty good as well as the last order I place was screwed up ( sent wrong component ) and after contacting them the correct item was immediately shipped out and I got to keep the wrong item.

This has been said several times in this thread, but I'll say it again to express my desire to hear the answers to these questions:

1) When will you guys find a better solution to the flaps
2) When will there be outside openeing tools (which, as stated, would probably remove the need for flaps anyway
3) When will the knives become GOOD quality knives, instead of just another space within the tool (maybe better steel for the knife, and no more chisel grind)
4) Tell them to get more involved in the forum, or at least let them know they should read the comments and take them into SERIOUS consideration
5) Ask them for a free Powerlock to give to DoughDTD  :D

Yeah, why do they do that? Are they afraid that we will forget what brand of MT or knife we are using? Or is it so that we can be sure that we are buying a SOG?

+1

I like a lot of their offerings in knife line, but the fact they even stamp SOG on lowrider clips turns me off.

Also not really related to MT, but when will they start to use VG10 in their fixed blades? $100+ for an aus8 blade just doesn't cut it anymore, not with all the 154cm, s30v, vg10 out there.

Why don't they supply the tools with better components ( ie. file and plain edge blade ) instead of making us purchase these upgrades seperately online?.

The 3 sided file supplied with the multi's is not the same one offered on their website,  which is imo more aggressive and shaves better. I've replace all the standard files in my sog's with them, also you can get a hollow ground straight edge blade unlike the chisel ground combination edge supplied with the tools.

Thanks mate $35us post to OZ is a bit of a stinker. I wonder if they actually have any stock , a lot of web sellers advertise MT's that they have not stocked for a long time . I will ask them if they have any. cheers mate.

I actually have the answer for this one and it isn't that good...

"We stopped stamping the U.S.A. logo onto the tools because we felt it
was more economical for our customers to simply advertise the country of
origin through word of mouth."
