Why did they stop marking the pliers "USA"?

I actually have the answer for this one and it isn't that good...

"We stopped stamping the U.S.A. logo onto the tools because we felt it
was more economical for our customers to simply advertise the country of
origin through word of mouth."

Wow talk about doubletalk :P

Economics has nothing to do with what they stamp or don't stamp on the pliers...actually stamping "SOG" four times probably costs more than one "USA" stamp...

Probably more economical because they wouldn't have to spend all their $$$ fighting lawsuits in California. :P

ha, true..true..

I noticed the cost of the Powerlocks hasn't gone down since they've started using foregin plier heads...

It sounds like SOG is embarassed to admit they aren't entirely USA made.

It seems like to me that when ever a tool becomes popular the drop the quality and start outsourcing manufacturing because people will buy there item based on brand rather than quality(Gerber is a good example of this).
