Just out of interest, what was your "lockdown" (if any) like at it's strictest?

BREAKING NEWS:
Chanced upon a steal of a deal in the form of a Giant Toughroad SLR 0 2019 model in great condition for HALF the original retail price.
Tentative plan now is to do the South Island again early next year but to do the West Coast route. "Plan B" on my original South Island trip.
The Australia-New Zealand travel bubble should be in place by then.

Awesome bike, finally have a purpose built weapon for the riding I'll be doing rather than a cobbled together second best alternative.
Designed for touring/adventure riding.
Being a "zero" in Giant's model hierarchy it has all the fruit. 4 pot hydraulic disc brakes, 1x11 Shimano Deore/SLX drivetrain, frame designed to carry luggage but still be light.
It's almost like a rigid 29er MTB.
Pic with my luggage fitted, still have bar ends and handlebar track to mount.

Wasn't as bad here as NZ. With me being in an essential industry I was still going to work every day and a lot more was open in the way of shops. Most takeaways were open many cafes and restaurants were open for takeaway service, Bunnings etc were open but you could end up standing in a socially distanced queue for an hour to buy a can of paint.
"Local" exercise only, bottle shops open but not pubs,
Anyone who could work from home had to. State borders are locked down here, you need "travel papers" if you live in NSW and work in Qld or vice versa.
Everything has eased to level 2 now. 150km for recreation, can visit other houses, groups of 10, eateries open for up to 10 customers. Footy starts on Thursday. Level 1 not too far away.

Thanks. Some people were saying we were too restrictive, holding up Queensland as an example of somewhere with a similar population to here but with a less restrictive lockdown but resulting in similar case numbers.
I have heard others say that Queensland's lockdown was not too different to ours.

Hey, if it worked you were not too restrictive. You did what nedded to be done. Wish we had done the same...
