Did not find a thread with Victorinoxes and tractors.
Since both are the real versatiles of our world maybe we need one?

So post a pic of something from your favorite maker with a tractor, model tractor or some other tractor related parnaphilia!

I’ll start by reposting earlier photo from today. Sentinel on the grill of Valmet 500:

Excellent!

In a couple of weeks there will be an auction near here of the estate of an antique tractor collector. I’m tempted to go, but my while my wife tolerates my Victorinox collecting, she might change her mind if I start bringing home a series of tractors.

I have some but never taken a multitool picture with them...

Had I seen this thread earlier today...

Also, must resist temptation to post pictures of ladies with tractors.....

We have two on the farm; a 1996 John Deere 5400 and a 2016 Deere 3038E; both 4WD tractors with loaders. Was too wet to really go outside today, and the tractors are shoved in pretty tightly, in a run-in shed attached to the garage. I do have tons of small scale tractors, from the pedal tractor I had as a really little kid, to 1/160 tractors and equipment intended for model railroads.  Most are Ertl, followed by Siku. The scale I try to stick to is 1/64.

My farm work SAK (Fireman) with two really small Bruder tractors, a Fendt and a JCB Fastrac, which at 1/128 scale are half the size of a Matchbox car. They never sold well, because they were fragile, especially in the hands of kids, the target market.  The concept of trailer hitches (and the really fragile plastic ball and socket coupler) followed by removable duals and loaders included with some tractors was poorly thought out. I managed to break the rear gate off the trailer, and I am a collector who handles my stuff carefully. They are incredibly fragile!   There's a Renault not pictured with these that I snapped the chassis in half trying to mount the loader.

On the other hand, Ertl had a line in the 1980s called Microsize, which included sets of pretty much all major makes of tractors found in the US (Deere, Case IH, Ford, Deutz-Allis) that were the same size as these Bruders, and also included implements. However, they used better quality metal and plastic, and Ertl knew the removable loaders/duals were a not a good idea. Instead of a tiny plastic ball socket hitch/drawbar, Ertl chose to use the same drawbar as on the 1/64 tractors, which was thick diecast, and part of the tractor body.  Many of these castings (especially the Deere and Case tractors) remained in the lineup as keychains until just a couple of years ago.

My Granddad and I recently noticed the center link of the 3-pt of this tractor was smurfed.  Earlier in the summer, a friend of ours cut a few trees (gigantic rotted pines) and tore down a few old sheds, and I suspect he rigged to the top link, causing the damage. My folks are bad to not have people pay for stuff they break; unless it's me for some odd reason.  That's a Tinker on the loader hydraulic ram.

I got it off the tractor, tried to use a universal replacement purchased from Tractor Supply that didn't work (eyelets much too wide to fit on the tractor, so I tried to unscrew the damaged link, and put the threaded eyelet from the universal one in (which would've worked implement-side, as the socket on the Bush Hog is much wider). Thought I'd just need my Outdoorsman to pull a couple of pins, but uh, I ended up dragging out a 24-inch pipe wrench to try to get the damaged bit unscrewed. I suspect some threads were damaged in the process--it spun when I used the pipe wrench, but it was seized otherwise.  But, it would not unscrew all the way out.  Ended up calling the dealer, and putting a new top link assembly on order--$180! I think, from now on, I'm instituting a rule on this farm that except in certain circumstances--bring your own equipment!  And secondly, this is why hiring people you know personally is somewhat of a bad idea--especially when your own stuff is broken. But, the guy has decades of experience, and it could've been much worse if someone inexperienced had done the same job. And, he doesn't own (and can't afford) any type of tractor or loader. He did have a logging operation about 15 years ago, and did own several trucks and a large skidder.

Good story and a really nice JD,  can't see clearly, but 5400? I really like that type of tropical cabin and Deere front loader. That type of cabins are practically non existing in my neck of the woods, solid cabins, or none at all if old enough.

Glad that you managed to fix it. I think you're right on your thinking regarding machinery and usage.

I picked up the new top link at the dealer today, and as I have done for going on most of my twenty-four years, headed right straight to the diecast model selection the minute I walked in the door.   This one is a premium piece "FOR ADULT COLLECTORS ONLY", not a toy. Lots of easy to break off stuff, so I put it in a display case. Actually, I had originally meant to leave it in the box--but it's got a lot of working features for the smallish 1/64 scale--steering, floating axle, and rear 3pt. lift.   I paid $20, which seemed too cheap, given the mostly-metal toy grade 1/64 pieces aren't much cheaper. Seems MSRP in 2018 was $40, and people were paying $80 or so for these when new, as they seemed to have been hard to find.  I'm going back and buying the other two different Authentics tractors they had--the detail is unsurpassed, and they don't take up as much space as 1/16 and 1/32 tractors.

ERTL Authentics #6 John Deere 4430 MFWD and OC Electrician.

SwissChamp (’tis the Nessmuk month so it is the only pocket knife I carry) and Valtra 665 from mid-nineties. This one has the slightly wider cabin; an option known as ’metsäohjaamo’; for working in woods. The extra cabin width making moving the seat around easier than in standard version:

Are those waffle irons still out and about? I seem to recall that there was something wrong and they burned themselves and were recalled of something?
As for the brand, I think I might have a shirt or two, and maybe a vest somewhere, from the Oslo shop

I think they were brought over to the manufacturers Wilfa brand when Moods Of Norway went bankrupt. Not sure if they are made anymore, but they were still around maybe as late as year or two ago. (I don't really look for waffle irons, but then it was some kind of sale).

Yes, there was a recall back in 2010 or so. Pretty sure that was fixed.

I seem to vaguely remember traktors are kind of statement in various Helsinki settings too? Maybe it was a bar or something like that?

You're thinking of Zetor methinks

https://www.raflaamo.fi/en/helsinki/zetor

These days more of a tourist attraction I think, worth a visit though
As matter of fact we had some Norwegian friends down in this neck of the woods few years ago and one of them (a Zetor owner) had that firmly marked on his list of must sees
