Crossman 38T.

Seeing that I am now looking at re-collecting Leatherman multi-tools, I visited the local gun shop. I was able to score some real good ones back 10 years or so. Sadly, all they have, and I kid you not, are new Leatherman Kicks left in stock. That is a tool that was discontinued back in 2012!
I figured while there to look at things that go bang. Hidden among all the used handguns for sale, was a pellet gun. The price was very sweet indeed, and when I asked to look at it, it felt real. I brought it home.
What I found was a Crossman 38T. I remember not all that long ago, that I paid almost 200 for my other all metal pellet revolver...and this one was super cheap at 49 dollars. Mind you, I had never seen one before, and as I held onto it, I was very curious about it. The guy behind the counter told me it was in .117 caliber. I didn't spend much time looking at the markings...for that price, even if it didn't work, it would make a nice legal wall display...if it came to that.
I just finished doing some online research and found out several interesting things about the revolver. It is far older than I though. I also found that this is in .22 caliber, and not .177 that the gun guy told me. I tried a new CO2 cartridge and I cannot discern any leakage. Make quite a loud rapport after loading a .22 pellet in and shooting it in my house at a pellet catcher.
What I found the most interesting though from the research I did was that these were originally designed to train police and military personnel. How cool is that. Well, that explains why this feels so accurate and real. I also found out that mine is from the first production run.

SteveC, I can see why. This older model sure beats the newer all plastic 357.

Good score. I have two of the shorter nosed 38c versions in .177, They do need new cylinders though, a couple of the index points have worn away and I have to manually rotate the cylinder to shoot all the pellets.
I have the Crossman peacemaker in .22 as well, and the UZI (.177)

Looks good too. Gonna have to find one. I've been meaning to move up to .22 air rifles, since they are better at varmint control than a .177.
