Day 19

One of the legs of my tripod was too loose, so it collapsed every time I tried to set it up. Good thing I had the bit adapter with the right bit on me, and was able to tighten it.

Day 20

The MP helped mod a MP400 and got modded itself. First, i used several tools from MP600 donors to make a bladeless MP400. Then I decided that i didn’t need two bladeless tools, and so i removed the bottle opener (that i don’t need anyway) from my Mp600 and replaced it with the serrated blade.

I figured it made more sense for the smaller tool to be bladeless. Even less intimidating in public  ;) The saw blade is stored in the sheath with the bit kit.

Looking at the picture, does the exchangers blade really hit the pliers? It appears that they'll slide next to it (maybe with a little rubbing), just like in the big brother... :think:

Day 23

Used the blade to cut a lotion dispenser in half. The pump mechanism could no longer reach the lotion at the bottom, so i cut it, and placed it in a container. Will last for a couple more weeks  :tu:

Day 24



Tested the MP in the desert today. Well, our kind of desert  ;) The wind was blowing pretty strong today, so we were almost sandblasted. As you can imagine there was sand everywhere in the tool ( and in other places  :D )

I shook out most of it, and I am happy to report that it performed without complaint. The plier sliding mechanism worked without issues, so did the tool implements. All deployed easily. Here is a picture after i inspected it once we were back home. Only needed some running water, and it was back in shape. Pretty impressive Gerber  :tu:

Nice pics!

This tolerance to dirt and abuse makes Gerbers be like an AK-47 of the multitools.

This is why I always carry one Gerber and keep my Swisstool Spirit away from dirt, sand, motor oil and grease.

Used the scissors to cut off a tag. I have been wearing this shirt over the last few months, and it never bothered me. Today it drove me crazy  :think: :ahhh


Also used the scissors in the yard to cut some wilted blossoms.

Yeessss, I know that feeling!!! , and I'm glad you had the MP with you; I had to keep tolerating and fighting the itchiness and discomfort all day long, as on my three episodes (yes, 3, I'm late to learn  :facepalm:) I had no cutting tools with me.
