What I always liked about this knife is that it seems to be "designed"  It seems that the choices are well thought out and deliberate.  On first glance, the blade looks almost unappealing... but realizing who was involved with the design, there's no time for gimmicks.

I wanted this SAK for a long time, and since I don't have one now I probably never will.

What put me off is the construction - as far as I have heard - the titanium scales being more-or-less glued on to the sides of the knife, like decoration rather than providing stability.

Also the sizes of the bolt holes (whatever they're called) - not actually being metric or imperial but some weird standard found only on Petzl climbing equipment. (Maybe that's Imperial? I don't know) Anyway - This really limits its usefulness - all that crazy blade shape and awesomeness comes down to visual bling without being tremendously practical. Kind of the problem with a lot of Wenger stuff, you might say.

You got the most useful version of the Ueli Steck! Opening layer and metal file - yessss!  This is the one I kind of always wanted. Beautiful, bonkers knife. Love it!

There's no question that the Titanium trio are stunning. I have all three variants tucked away in my collection, all that's missing is the counter display stand that went with them...still keep searching, maybe one day huh! :dd:

The counter display! Fat lot of good that'll do you when you're halfway up the North Face of the Eiger with the Hinterstoisser Traverse ahead of you and a snow storm brewing over the Jungfrau!

Actually, that Ueli Steck guy used to literally run up the Eiger! A rockface that used to kill almost everyone who went near it. He probably could have taken a Counter Display with him and it wouldn't have slowed him down.
He died on Everest - what an absolute legend that guy was!

Looking at gear lists and such from these mountaineers and professional explorers.... it seems like many or most of them don't carry any sort of multitool.     :dunno:

You see a lot of "designed by" by some celebrity in the outdoor community, that looks so poorly made and thought out, I think the only time they signed off on anything was the license agreement (i.e. Camillus Les Stroud; and Gerber Bear Grylls) And then you have designs in which that individual played a huge part, resulting in a well-thought-out and designed item.

And in all honestly, I think this is the latter. You've got a reasonably sized, lightweight standard Winger size knife, cramming in a serrated blunt-tip blade in case things go south. Crammed in that blade is three wrenches and a slotted SD, as opposed to seperate (making it heavier and thicker) tools. You've got the file for sharpening crampons, the can opener (for what else, duh!!), and the SD at the end of the bottle opener. The Ti handle also features a bit driver.

I agree.... In this case it seems like this tool is based around the wrenches and drivers, and the blade is sort of... crammed in there just in case.  That seems to be what you'd expect out of an adventurer these days (including the part serrated blade which outdoor non-knife enthusiasts seem to enjoy)
