EDC 16 (bonus action):

Chili tomorrow....but chicken tonight!

The shots of the uncut chicken were completely out of focus, so I won't include those. The BAK got used to spatchcock the bird. Backbone, wishbone, and scapulae got taken out and the chicken was pressed flat. Then seasoned with salt and spices. Then smoked for an hour.

Spatchcocked:

Smoked (note the juices running out from the left):

The BAK did a great job. I just powered through the ribs along the backbone, but the sheepsfoot tip was precise enough to make wishbone removal simple and clean. cutting out the scapulae was a bit tricky, but the BAK's tip was able to find and separate the joint.  :tu:

This might not be my first choice for cutting up a chicken, but the BAK provided good service. And dinner was delish!  :tu:

I used the scissors of the Mountaineer to snip a thread from my shorts. A very difficult angle to photograph I must say.

Late for me posting and very little use.  I did use the Yeoman combo tool twice - First removing the wrap from a tin of mints, and second for opening day 4 IPA

I love Paul Newman’s products!  For people who do not know or doubt when they say the profits go to charity.  I personally can give an account of where some of those profits go.  My youngest brother attended one of Newman’s Serious Fun Camps for a week session during few summers and my parents were never asked to pay anything.  They are amazing.  And for some non-US members, there are even camps in other countries.

Looks like a great eat!

I have collected a BAK long time ago and do find it a pretty fascinating knife/tool.  I don't use the marlin spike much, but it is interesting the manufacturer choose to put a lock for the marlin spike, instead of the knife blade.(btw, anyone knows why is that?)  Also, the way how the blade is situated, it is pretty easy to open with fingers pinching, but closing take slightly more effort, which I do kinda appreciate.

Day 17

At work, big day, small party. My shoes had developed a few worn spots at the tips and sides, where the black had worn away, exposing the tan colour underneath. The Sharpie covered them nicely, and the shoes are as good as new!

Thanks to that link, that's a noble cause and glad to see it seems to be successful in its venture!

That's a curious poster on the IPA bottle, I'm sure it is intentional, but any back story to this?

Bailout help with all the cutting of herbs from yesterday and getting ready for a steak dinner.  The herb crust has really strong favor, but definitely is good for all kind of meats.  The longer blade and slight curve of the edge did well on rocking motion to finely chop all the spices.

The bottle was part of a holiday 12 pack and all the bottles labels are upside down like that.  The devil head is on all the bottles because it is the symbol for the brewery.  This is a story on the back of each relating to the naming.

As far as the camps, they’re amazing.  My brothers has several health issues and is wheelchair bound, but they had him rafting, zipline, horseback, swimming, etc.  In the winter they have day skiing and snowboarding events.  The number of camps keeps growing as well and all over the world.

That must be a really uplifting experience and a confidence builder, sure hope they will continue to grow!

I rarely drink beer, but if I do, I probably would love to collect some of these bottles.  Cool!
