Very nice.  I love the green alox.  I saw a green Farmer X on an auction site and thinking about ordering one.  I don’t really need one because already have a Farmer X that I purchased as a mod from before Vic starting making them, but green would match my Pioneer X.
It is a nice tool and whatever you tell yourself to make you feel better.
Thanks Sos :tu: I really like the green alox too, think it will wear very nicely over time…the FX is definitely one of my favourites perhaps even actual favourite, great tool set.

Obviously huntsman isn’t dissimilar and another fave, but as we all know, there’s something about alox (sounds like it should be a movie title :dunno: ) and the inline awl is one of the most useful tools out…RP I take total responsibility

Day 19

Anyone else found this…I’ve started to carry the gear differently. Exactly the same things of course but now carried in different ways from when we started

For instance, the phone holder on my belt I’ve found far too fiddly getting the phone in and out, so that now contains the band aids and insect wipes that were in my wallet as well as the nicorettes, along with back up battery that was always in there.

Wallet now thinner and lighter. Keys have switched to being in left pocket with wallet, phone in right. All feels more comfortable and practical.

Bit of drizzle here this morning so here’s a couple of pics from the dog walk.

First one is captioned- schmackos where? :)

Day 17
I use my Zippo all the time so a refill once or twice a week is pretty normal for me.  I refilled it this afternoon and might have overfilled it just a bit. I dropped it back into my pocket and 30 or 40 minutes later I started to feel intense, localized pain on my leg.  I realized I was experiencing a chemical burn from Zippo fluid leaking onto my leg.  The quick fix was to pull my shorts down and quickly rub a handful of hand sanitizer onto my upper thigh to stop the burning.  Worked like a charm and I transferred the lighter to the cargo pocket so there was another layer of fabric between my leg and the lighter.  I'm fine now, but I'm afraid I'm not allowed in that shop anymore.     (just kidding)

Never thought that lighter fluid could cause that.
But then, I've also thought that Vics small saws are harmless  :dunno:
The fluid burn if leaks is one of the reasons (evaporation being other) why I like the butane inserts.

The Zippo only leaked because I overfilled it. It must have got some fluid on the outside and I didn't notice and wipe it off before I put it in my pocket. Once it soaked through the pocket material and contacted my skin it started to burn.

No use today so another glamour shot.

Day 18

Used the scissors on the MP400 to fix the ripped hose on the vacuum. Duct tape will hold until the replacement hose comes in.

Used the Buff on our evening walk to keep my neck warm. Handkerchief for its intended purpose as well.

Day 18
Today the Spirit helped file the latch hole for the back gate, to make it a little smoother opening.  The Spirit also cut open a bag of pretzels and opened a beer.

I used to use them for micro bits, but I use a tiny Tic Tac box for that now.

But the chapstick tube is still a nice little container. I used to carry a tiny deodorant glass bottle in one, to protect it.

Which one do you have?
I see some complains about the single flame one.
Didn't I ask that somewhere here before?

I did not yet re-arrange the EDC kit. I did make the pocket caddy for the Spirit right before the challenge, and it's proven great so far. I might rethink the Man Bag carry for any alternative  But it's doing fine.

The first time I went shopping my Mrs.(girl friend then) made me realize we have very different concept of time, or we live on different planets with very different gravitation pulls, that's why our concepts of time are so different... :D

Nice idea!  I used to carry the mini altoids tin full of bits, but eventually the need for them is so low that I abandon it.  But I could see how this could be very much appreciated if there is a need for them. :like:

Mountaineer helped cut lemon for water in the morning, to flush out the liver(that's what I just learnt, detoxing).  Then Bailout helped with a small snack of seeds in the afternoon.  Been intermittently fasting for the past few days, today is the first day I do feel the 'hunger'.
