:tu:   Hey....you never know when a safety pin might come in handy......

For instance....if one sawed one's thumb off....and needed to stick it back on....a few safety pins could come in handy.

(See what I did there? "Handy"?  Oh I crack myself up....... )

Haha, please tell your, ahem, friend Nix that they’re apparently not very good eating

"One term I've heard is 'when you cook a bush turkey in a pot, throw away the bush turkey and eat the pot,"

Although another article says they’re delicious as are the eggs (good size the eggs as per my pic earlier in the week).

Although very common where I live they’re a protected species

…unless you mean the kookaburra they’re delicious ;)

Which one do you have?
I see some complains about the single flame one.
Didn't I ask that somewhere here before?
Sorry if I did.

I have a few different ones.

Vector Thunderbird butane inserts have been out for a while.  I have had two single torch and a soft flame.  One of the torch ones failed me after about a years worth of use.  The plastic case leaks, which I think is because it got too cold once when refilling.  The other two inserts have been great through a few years so far.

I’ve had two of the Zippo single torch and the ARC.  The Zippo look better made because of the metal case, but one of the torch inserts is sporadic now on lighting, but the other has been going good for a year.  I’m not a big fan of the ARC so it hasn’t seen much use.

The one that I just recently picked up and have been really liking is a dual soft flame/single torch.  It is a Yusud (found on Amazon).  Time will tell how reliable it is, but so far I like it. Here is a quick video showing it.

Love the first pic.  The bird pics aren’t bad either.  I’d much rather deal with them than the geese we have around.  There were over two dozen right next to the path and another dozen in the water.

If you must know, it's "pork in juices."  I wish I could say it was tasty, but it is dry and bland.  It has all the flavor and texture of wet cardboard and it needs to be incorporated into a soup or a casserole to give it any sort of flavor and that doesn't help much.  However, it is filling and nutritious, and it stores well. You can buy it by the case from the USDA. It's the same stuff they serve in school lunches and prisons.  Probably as good as you'll find in military field rations and most likely what was rejected by the dog food factories.

  the things people eat in the name of nutrition.

day 19: wife is a bit under the weather so spent the day taking care of her

Day 19 ...awlready  :ahhh
The Vic. Executive had no problems preparing a Kiwi.

(Image removed from quote.)

While later on it was brought to my attention that junior plugged a usb-c cable into a micro-usb port

The Swisscards magnifier helped to check for any damage

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

... the connection is a bit wonky now but still charges  ::)

And some people think the Vic magnifying glass isn’t useful.  I love mine.

Day 20
The main use today was caused when Fisher’s leash got caught on a thorn branch that then snapped back into my leg.  The tweezers were used to pull a few thorns from my leg and then an antibacterial wipe was used to clean the blood.  The caplifter then opened the IPA of the day

It isn’t just the”land mines”.  They can be mean, especially if they have young and towards smaller animals (Fisher).  I’ve had to pick up Fisher and stomp and yell to scare one away on a couple different occasions when walking.

I know.  There is nothing quite like being 13 and hearing “Sherry, go find your brother’s finger”.
But he handled it well growing up.  It gave him an excuse if caught flipping someone off (I was just pointing).
Also, he learned a ketchup pack and pin to prick it could make for a good practical joke
much to my mother’s dismay.

I got attacked by a goose when I was a wee lad. Scary! Who knew those things could be so vicious!?

Greetings to all on day 20.
Back home so no more aimless traipsing round the shops.
SWAMBO junior managed to get a knot in her very thin necklace chain which is hard to undo. The eyeglass screwdriver in the Wave perfect for the job.
All happy and the beer is cold.
