Day 5

The Yeoman was used for opening some coffee and peeling an orange.

The Spirit was used to help pop off a broken childproof screw lid on a container of bleach.

The flashlight was used for checking for leaks and locating the shut-off valve under the sink due to a leaking faucet.

Day 5

Not a lot to do for my EDC. Used my handkerchief as intended (so you don‘t wanna see a picture) and used the dog poop bags as intended (again you don‘t wanna see a picture). So here is a picture of the Opinel on wrapped Christmas presents instead  :D

EDC 05 (bonus material):

I snapped off the pull ring for the seal on the cream. The humongous claw on the BAK worked like a charm to pry the accursed seal out and make way for post-dinner coffee happiness.

Some light cutting tasks for the various blades in the arsenal and then the Olight H1r Nova and bluetooth clip got to flex on a winter walk for the Weightloss challenge  :tu:

Upon seeing the pic of the path, Mrs Geared protested "You can't post that, it looks like you paused a horror movie, they won't believe you"

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

I have an H1.  They are nice headlamps.

(Image removed from quote.)

... no seriously, that's some decent light  :tu:
Nowadays, the H1r is probably about average brightness, but easily sufficient.  There are pocketable flashlights that are over twice as bright.

Day 6

Quick evaluation today after nearly a week (rather than tomorrow as working)

Very glad I went lightweight pocket carry only. Seems to be working well but does seem a little odd on the 7am dog walk having even simple things like my wallet, don’t normally take anything apart from keys, so a face mask and fold out shopping bag :dunno:

Basically wear shorts all the time, did wear pants (trousers :) ) into town the other day, so if I carried anything much more I’d look like a bag of walnuts (how Arnie was once described I seem to remember- although in my case not because of the muscles).

Haven’t even used the bantam yet but the manager quite a lot, partly because I always have my keys on me. Glad I didn’t go huntsman which was on the cards at one point.

Anyway this is turning out to be the test it’s supposed to be for me, after a week, even if I could change, I wouldn’t

Standard box opening photo below :pok:

(Image removed from quote.)

I usually were shorts all the time as well, so my stuff fits nicely in the various cargo pockets. I have a light-weight belt pouch, that my pocket organizer and phone will fit in, for those rare occasions I wear pants.  I keep debating buying a pair of cargo pants, but never do.

Used my fountain pen to write in my journal.  I can get refills reasonably and it's a fun way to write!
Great use.  I always thought fountain pens were cool, but being left-handed they usually were not good to use if you wanted anyone to be able to read it.

Looks much nicer than either of the uses would have

The BAK can opener is big.  It makes the Wenger ones look small.

I like cargo pants and shorts too Sos but don’t actually own any :twak:

The shorts I do wear mostly are hiking style so have zipped pockets on the legs that do much the same thing, been very handy for the mask and fold out bag. I’ve got a phone holder that clips onto the waist band or belt for phone and backup battery, rest goes in front pockets pretty much.

I’m left handed too, when I was very young, we’re talking 50 years ago (crikey how did that happen!) :dunno: they made us use fountain pens, always smudged the page as us lefties tend to write sideways and run our hands over the wet ink

Day 6 bonus use

Thought I’d better defrost my beer fridge as the ice was stopping the freezer door closing. I’ve had it 25 years and it was old when I got it…they don’t make them like they used to :pok:

Used the bantam to help leverage out some recalcitrant ice, it was good to start but tbh had to resort to the trusty screwdriver, being ultra careful not to de-gas it like I have in the past :ahhh

The 512kb limit forced me to resize it. The full size pic looks much better and the text is more readable but I did not want to upload it to imgur without permission.

Hello Comis!

Yes, it's a Basic limited edition 2020.
The colors caught my eyes. I was searching for a regular companion or a Bahco 2444 to match the colors of my Bahco tools. But when I saw this Basic, I pulled the trigger! ;-)

Day 05
The Spirit had a busy start this morning mending a stuck window blind. Multiple different implements were used...

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

Yeah, the usual mess of pull strings jumping off the wheels and changing sides  ::)

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

I did shorten the strings to avoid this from happening again...

(Image removed from quote.)

A lot of good uses! :tu:   It really is a annoying thing whenever the strings get bind up.

Used my fountain pen to write in my journal.  I can get refills reasonably and it's a fun way to write!
That brought back fond memories, and I did remember it staining my shirt whenever I was careless about how I handle it.  :D

Good uses! :tu:   I actually write down where the main value for all the bathroom pipes is, because people tend to get panicky whenever something burst in the bathroom.

Day 6

The little guy crawled up to me on sofa and demanded I have to immediately open a tin can full of egg roll for him to eat, though he still can't speak, he surely know how to express himself(especially around food). :D
I should have used the wiggy bar from Countycomm, but the SAK mountaineer comes out faster, and he wants it triple quick!

Mountaineer helped fix an extension cord later on in the day.  But the can opener did get in the way colliding with one of the prong.
