Day 14

Think we have a theme thanks to the mighty comis   :salute:

I’d put them on the beer fridge but think they might get a little lost!
So the kitchen it is :tu:

So glad they have arrived!

Echotech, they looks great on the kitchen fridge, though I have to admit I really like what you have done with the beer fridge!

I'm really interested in trying a decent tomahawk. I keep looking at the RMJ Tactical/American Tomahawk ones, but way too expensive. I'm going to look into those two Fiskars, and maybe some of the cheaper Cold Steel hawks. I have had a few plastic-handle hatchets, but they just felt odd.
Cody, while you are looking for a tomahawk, I would humbly suggest to also take a look at the SOG Fasthawk.  The cutting geometry is not the same as a regular axe, so it may not chop/split was well.  But for "throwing", they are absolute gems.  Very durable handle, and the whole package is very lightweight.  I know SAKguy used to carry one with him for hike and make kindling for his tea pot.

6am more like it Borg but as you say they’re very beautiful and it’s just normal here.

I think one of the things overseas visitors are most surprised by is just how loud nature is in Australia, the cockatoos are the loudest, but the cicadas in summer give them a run for their money!

Try a flock of cockatoos on the power lines outside your bedroom window at 6AM. >:(

Not sure i would like the noise but i would love to see them, there is a power pole in the field next to my house which has a metal cap on the top, every morning for about 3 weeks a woodpecker was rattling away on it, honestly it was like a machine gun as the metal bit was flapping around amplifying the noise, another woodpecker in the tree next to my bedroom window was replying to it, it was driving me nuts, thankfully they both packed it in eventually

Day 14:

Installed Weathertech Cargo Mat and cargo containment system in the new car. The floormats and mudflaps will be here tomorrow, I think.

Opened plants:

And a whole heckuva lot of diecast models; as well as the new Leatherman Bond.

The TOPs knife is a beast.  What model is that?
I'm very impressed with the Ka Bar.  I might have to get one for myself.

Day 14
I opened a bag of Cypress mulch with the Schrade 60T but it started raining before I could place the mulch where it was needed in the garden.

Thanks.  That is the Purgatoire River in southeastern Colorado.  About 30 miles from where I was born and about 100 from where I grew up and where I live now.  The main attraction in the "Picketwire" canyon is the world's longest set of dinosaur tracks.  I only saw about 100 yards worth.  The longer set were on the other side of the river and it was up a little too high to wade across this morning.

Day 15. Had all sorts of trouble installing mudflaps in the new car. The instructions are non-specific about hardware sizes; referring only to parts bags (at least LEGO tells you EXACTLY what brick to use), hard to read, and vague. The black and white illustrations are of such poor quality, they're impossible to read. Weathertech's "How to" video page never works. U-Clip Spring Nuts must be the work of the devil. Difficult to install, and I broke one. That's gonna necessitate a trip to Lowe's or Harbor Freight; maybe Fastenal--but I like the type Fastenal shows better, and they and Harbor Freight are right together; less than half a mile apart. I need to pick up a small set of metric sockets (just the sockets) as I've lost a few. I can just buy the size I need from Fastenal, and have Proto or their Harbor Freight-like Rock River brand (which is cheap, and available by the socket); but for about the cost of 4-5 Proto sockets, get a decent Quinn-brand socket set with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ratchets; as well as sockets in most sizes I usually use from Harbor Freight. But, I like my USA-made socket sets. But then again, I'm slowly assembling a set of tools that stay in my truck; and that socket set will be perfect!
