Victorinox Farmer X 30 Day Challenge

Hey guys. I just got my Victorinox Farmer X from Knifecenter. How do we go about setting up a 30 day challenge and what are the rules? I've seen them posted all over this forum but never really read up on them since i didn't own the SAK... thanks!

You can use that thread see who's interested, what month works best for everyone, be if you want to use the standard rules, or something special.

Once it's been advertised and the interested parties choose a month in which to do the challenge... Then you set up the thread.  The official thread should be somewhat uncluttered so that it's easy to follow and award badges to the people who completed the challenge.   You could jump back here and make this official.

Or you can just take off from here. There's no right or wrong way... It's just that since 2021 challenges are a hot topic...
Merit Badges Participate in a Challenge thread, carry at least one black edc item, and post a photo every day for 30 consecutive days. I have the FX but I'm really struggling to use the saw  :dunno: I live in a city centre (concrete jungle, not jungle  ::) )

Would my custom Farmer X count?  Same toolset just was made before Victorinox decided to make a Farmer X and has titanium scales.  If so, I’d be interested.

Absolutely. As long as it has the same exact toolset and nothing extra or less, it's counted as a farmer x!

How about we start it October 23 to November 20.  It will give enough time to work out the rules & also others to get a farmer x if they're interested.

Most challenges start on the first of the month, and usually with enough notice so that there are plenty of participants. (my Pioneer X Challenge being a notable exception  :facepalm: )

For a badge to be created, I believe you need to have a certain number of participants..... 10? 20?

The general rules are.  Participants are only allowed to use the tool in question (Farmer X in this case) for the 30 days of challenge, for all tasks that require a multitool.  Participants post a picture each day of their utilization.  If the tool wasn't used, a glamor shot should be posted.  If the tool was not adequate for a task and another MT was needed, the participant should explain why.  You can tweak the rules of you want, but this is the basic framework.

Same here, I’d like a good excuse to start getting the most out of the FX but minimal challenge in November and thinking :think: I’ll do the EDC in DEC after that.
Next year, preferably middle of year (when it’s cooler in Australia and I’ll be wearing jeans rather than shorts) would suit me better but sure I’ll join in whenever :cheers:
