Great work, everyone!

Day 3

Used the awl to clear the worst of the mud out of my boots before a wash and a reproofing session!

Day 3

Still early, but the Farmer X helped open a box of crab cakes for a snack.  It also helped with opening a few bills, in order to write the checks for mailing.

Day 3.

Besided minor foodprep I did some repair jobs at home.
My wife has a decorative duck marionette of which my daughter broke a part of a foot while playing around. Found out it had been fixed several times in the past in a rather rough way and it will brake again of I simply glue it on again.

So I removed some wood to make space for a new "implant" to glue into a notch, and carved into shape. Awl for drilling a hole.
Had to use pliers to remove the small bolt, so LM Blast to the rescue.

Will paint it when its fully dry in one or two days.

FX Day 03:

Used the awl a couple of times today: once to open a package, once to remove a cable tie. No action photos however....sorry.

Day 3

Lots of Awl uses: Breaking down a box and cleaning the hole punch.

Also used it to mark a cutting area

All hail the might awl  :salute: :D

Saw cut a piece of 2x4. Needed a new gate stop. More awl use making pilot holes.

Used the can opener as a screwdriver. However, it received minor damage. Nothing a file couldn't fix, but this reinforces my dislike of the can opener as a screwdriver. It is just too soft and too thin. From now on the MP400 will ride shotgun to take care of screws.

Day 4

Sawed off the support loop from my Dremel charging base. When the Dremel rested against it, it would not make enough contact to charge, and when it did charge, it would not touch the loop. Not needed, so I removed it to make the base more space efficient.

Sweet!

:tu: :tu:

I’m well pleased tbh, they don’t come up that often and normally sell for a fair bit.

This one was about half the price of buying a new Swiss Tool. The pictures online overall didn’t do it justice but they weren’t showing all of the tools, so I did take a bit of a gamble.

Apart from cosmetics it’s in good condition, serrated blade looks to have been well used but not much else, nothing broken and all locks solidly :like:

Day 3

This took about 1000 years. I definitely had more effective tools I could have used, but a challenge is a challenge.

After years of use, I found out my drafting table's surface had originally been installed properly, then removed, spun 180 degrees, and reinstalled wrong.

No wonder the height and angle adjustments never worked right.

I have a perfectly good drill I could have used.

Fifteen hojillion screws later...

...finally removed, rotated, and reinstalled.

Success!

This is less of an inspirational story, and more of a cautionary tale about the horrors of using a SAK to take out thirteen zillion slot screws. Oy.

End: Day 3

I understand that.  Last challenge I put a shelving unit (@20 screws) together using just an MT.

Jothra - that was a task and a half! Bet it was worth it in the end, admiring your work with an FX opened brew in hand! Nice find, Echotech!  :tu: Great work everyone!

Day 4

I noticed that the outside sensor for my Oregon weather thingy was showing low batteries again - swear it wasn’t that long ago since I last changed them! Anyhow, used the awl to press the reset buttons on the unit and the outdoor sensor - surprisingly it worked! Did think I was going to have to get a mini-screwdriver from a corkscrew bearing SAK, the usual tool of choice for this job.

DAY 4
Today was a peacekeeping mission in the house of Surge  :surrender:

It would appear that Mrs Surge had blown a fuse (not for the first time it has to be said  )

When I dared enter the lair of the beast I discovered that it was a fuse in one of her implements of follicle torture  >:D

I was surprised not surprised to learn that this was, in fact, my fault  :dunno: :pok:
It was further suggested that if I wished to remain attached to various fleshy parts I should "sort it"  :twak:

It was duly sorted and awl was good again (and still attached, so far  :2tu: )
They don't like it up 'em!
