DAY 7

I have to go out today & overnight to a place I can't carry  ::)

I'm afraid it's just a quick glamour (?) shot of the OHT before heading off into the rain  :td:

I'll catch up with all your uses and comments tomorrow. Peace. Out  :salute:

A day away will make you appreciate your OHT  ;)

Is the testing related to your new job?

Not exactly. I've been doing the test every three days for a couple of weeks now because I have to leave my local government area, which is a covid hotspot, to go to work. And I still have to do it when I start my new job. Until I manage to move next to my place of work.

Daredevil Day 7:  I've got good news and bad news: my ingenuity exceeds my photography skills.

I was trying to think of a use for the glass breaker other than breaking my neighbor's car windows, when I had a brilliant idea.  I bought a sheet of kydex because I want to try to make a couple of knife sheaths.  YouTube says to use a center punch to mark for drilling rivet hole.  Why not use a glass breaker?   The kydex is soft enough to press the point into it.  I'm a genius, a genius, I tell you!  Actually that's debatable, but at least I found a use for the glass breaker.  :tu:

If you squint really hard below the pencil tip in the pic, you might be able to see it.

Thanks. It's just a precaution. I have to do it every three days. And it is so fun. ::)
I have done a few tests in the past for interview reasons, and I can see where you are coming from.  Here I am hoping things could all go back to normal in the not so distant future, so we could leave these strange times way behind in the rear mirror.

That kinda reminds me of the LM Free P4.  It too has a 1.2 inch file which I have no idea what to do with it. :dunno:

Now I'm gonna remember this post whenever someone pull out a MT in a vehicle... :ahhh

Maybe some tools are meant to be used with gloves...

I think one of the reasons why I like the small blade on SAK so much is because it's perfect for clam shell opening.  It would be interesting to see how the hook works on that.

Those Classics would be perfect for college students. :tu:   I still remembered having my SAK with me when I went to college, and no one ever seems to question whether it is 'allowed' on campus.  But we sure do live in a very different time now.
The different time and questioning is one of the reasons I choose the Classic.  The other is the whole aspect of the tool you have, is better than the one you left behind because you didn’t want to carry.  I figure the Classic easily fits any pocket or in the ID & keycard pouch I’m also sending.

Now that's a nice idea! I wish I'd had a SAK in college.

Maybe also get them Deluxe Tinkers for any dorm room or apartment repairs?

Or that hammerhead monster that Echotech has?   :D
I had a SAK and found it vey useful.  I thought about a few different SAKs, but thought the small unobtrusive Classic would be a perfect starter that they appreciate.  Their will also be a keychain size flashlight to match and few other more college focused items.

Day 07
I just got a package in the mail from Sos!  :mail: :ahhh :woohoo:
I used the MP600 can opener to open the flap on the outer box, then the blade to open the inner padded envelope and finally release my prize from her GAW during the Dean51 memorial trad challenge.  It's a Case mini stockman with scales the color of the Caribbean sea.  Photos can not do it justice.  Thanks again Sherry!

Day 6
The Minimaster helped open a box with a couple Classics that will become part of gift boxes to my niece and nephew who are starting college later this month.
(Image removed from quote.)
It also helped cut some cord for a carry loop on a water bottle.
(Image removed from quote.)

Forgive me if you have spoke on this earlier, but are the scissors okay? I have a couple of Minimaster knockoffs, and their scissors are smurf.

Day 7

For me, the file is the most interesting tool on the TripSaver.  The filing surfaces are above average. Though I don't use them, the wire stripper notches do work. The hole in the file is for bending hooks on the end of wires (I think). And the end and one side are beveled and can be used for scraping and gouging (though the beveled edges are pretty blunt as is). It is multi-functional while still being capable of filing wood or metal  :tu:

Day 7. I finally found the Tough Tool I had actually bought for this challenge. It was so poorly put together and cheaply made, I decided just to go with the Swiza. Yes, the Swiza is a little weird, but I expect it to get the job done and not break and/or injure me; just like my SAKs (which I don't view Swiza knives as; as Victorinox is the only authorized company to use "SWISS ARMY")

On another note, I find Swiza's whole getting into knives thing a bit funny. Victorinox and Wenger got into watches and clocks recently in their history. However, Swiza is a over 100 year old Swiss watch and clockmaker that got into knives a little less than 10 years ago (my knife is dated 2015, and that was bought a year or two after they started selling knives).

The scissors were extremely loose when I got it and didn’t really work.  After peening the pivot a little they work better but still are not as good as Vic.

Daredevil Day 8: Early start today as Amazon left a package late last night.  The Swiss+Tech has screwdriver, or maybe a chisel because it's ground like one, that has a cutting hook.  Think Immler can opener mod, and it works very well.  :tu:
