Thankfully, after 25+ years, this is all the effort that is required  ::)
I often wonder why I see father-son team on MTO, but never Husband-wife, now I know why.

Day 8 of 30

Not much, if any, uses on Sundays for me :salute: so couple pics  one is just a close up of the plier head :tu:

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)
Second pix is surely IG worthy! :like:

Day 8

20210808_203313 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

another no use day.
i like the serrated blade,i'm eagerly awaiting the opportunity to use it
It's strange we don't see full serration on more knives, but instead, a good numbers are partially serrated.  Personally, I'd rather to have full serration(so I could pair it with another PE knife) or no serration, is it just me or anyone else share the same thought?

:iagree: the Spirit XC’s butter blade pairs really well with a PE knife, Alpineer works well so you get T&T, corkscrew and mini driver for very little extra weight

Day 8

A couple of outdoor tasks today...

Used the inline Phillips, then my hex bit coupler with a hex screw bit on the inline Phillips, to tighten the all the screws on a couple of Adirondack chairs.

Then used the pliers to bend a nail holding up the hummingbird feeder.

Nice uses! :tu:

Day 8
In addition to cutting some tinder for making popcorn, the Minimaster also helped open a package of cookies.
(Image removed from quote.)
Do you think the hex drivers at the back of Minimaster will be strong enough to do the work? :pok:

Really like the cycling and rowing, (all the different disciplines), watched a lot of diving this year too.
The new ones like the BMX and speed climbing were really cool, missed the skateboarding but reckon I’d have really enjoyed that too, how about yourself?
Oh, I totally missed out on these two, but I did watch a little bit of skateboarding.  It surely is a very different atmosphere in skateboarding, almost felt like couple of kids playing around on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I myself watched a fair bit of Fencing, Ping-pong double, Wrestling, Diving and Karate(interestingly enough, this will probably be the only Olympics that will host it, since Paris will not continue).
I have read about the really amazing story of Anna Kiesenhofer in women cycling(would love to see more clips about her), which she is a lone cyclist from Austria(no coach, no support, all by herself)beating all the strong teams around the world and complete revolutionize how everyone should look at cycling. :o

Day 08
No use today but after a week it hasn't been all that bothersome to carry in a belt pouch.  I've only hung up on a chair once and haven't caught a doorway at all.  I've lost quite a bit of weight since I last tried to belt carry the MP600, so maybe I just fit through doorways better than I used to.
Carrying MT to lose weight?  I think I actually gain some by subconsciously eating more. :D

So many great back stories, I’m already getting withdrawal symptoms! Good on Tokyo (a city I love) for going ahead and cheering the world up a bit during this rotten time. Really feel for them not being able to attend or really get involved, Sydney in 2000 was fantastic like that…or be able to offset the cost with tourism

Now all we need is Doug Marcaida and an edged weapon based contest for all us blade nuts

I wouldn’t trust them for anything heavy duty, but it will work for tightening some loose nuts.  The key is to use finger/thumb on side so all the torque isn’t through the hinge.

Along those lines, I think Kutmaster missed an opportunity in not having one of the driver holes be 1/4in to use as bit driver.

Day 9

 :mail:
My warranty replacement Gerber Dime came!
The Flik wharncliffe blade handled the envelope and box very convincingly.
Don't know if I'll bother taking a picture of the FLik opening the Dime packaging, but I suspect it'll be easy.

i prefer FS on a multitool where there is a PE blade,so that's a best of both worlds situation.
i'll use a PS blade,if that's all i have,but also depends on the scenario,eg,a camping bushcraft exercise,but i'll still take multiple knives/tools to cover all the bases,unless i'm taking the minimalist approach [which i don't do  :D]

I nicked my brand new Dime's scale trying to open that ridiculously thick plastic with the Flik's PE blade.
This is why I can't have nice things. And why I love the Rebar package opener.

DAY 9

Morning all. Great shots so far  :tu:
I have to go in to London unexpectedly (old school friend in town  :drink: ) so I can't carry the OHT

Here it is lounging around in the garden this morning. As you can probably see summer is in full swing here  ::)
They don't like it up 'em!

That'd be interesting, in fact, I always think there maybe some potential in 'blade sport', and as tech advances, we probably will be seeing something more outlandish in the future(super high skydive from space?  video gaming?  drone obstacle course flying?)

I like Tokyo as a city myself, and did hear some stories from the participating teams in terms of the arrangement this year.  I think one of the unexpected side effect is the massive sponsorship drops out, and this probably why some of the process/ceremonies are less than stellar.  I do feel sorry for the city, but kudos to those whom keep this up at last minute and it practically is mission impossible achieved.

That make perfect sense, and would surely make it more adaptable to common bits.  In fact, I do love to see how 1/4 in driver hole on MT or 'harduse' knives.

Same here, I think as knife/tool enthusiast, part of the fun for any outing is to give our beloved tools a test.

I thought about this often, and do think I have a pretty optimized way to open any clam shell with slip joints or knives, probably should make a video about that sometime soon.

Daredevil Day 9:  The file has no cutting edge, but it does have a diamond file on one side.  One of my Spartans was dull as could be, so I gave it about ten passes in each direction on the file, and it is sharp.

The TripSaver's serrated blade is sharp and was able to cut through this nylon-reinforced flexible plastic conduit without trouble.

I also tried using the saw blade this morning.
It is completely outclassed by saw blades that can cut in both push and pull directions.

Wow, the spartan must be really dull to get a sharp edge from a diamond file.

Day 9;

Had to change the car's license plate from a WV temporary tag (issued by dealer) to a VA permanent. Could not find the "Big Screwdriver" that mostly sees use as a prybar; so I was stuck with the Swiza and my Tough Tool. The Swiza got it off alright, but I used the Tough Tool (USA original) to finish the job. The thick tip of the old "Perfect Handle" Korean War-era Irwin I have would've been MUCH easier. I didn't have my keys to get into the farm shop (where most of the tools are; and I had the thick tip of my Proto J-100 which is my only current keychain OPT), and no big screwdriver was to be found in the garage. Both of these were too thin (though the extra width of the screwdriver and the fat handle of the Schrade made it easier) for the job. Highly polished tools don't rust as much, but when it comes to screwdriving work, their constant slipping and sliding are annoying. Part of the reason these days, I mostly carry the Leatherman Bond or Rebar; and their matte bead blasted drivers.

On another note, the dealer didn't supply a front plate mount back in May (which should've been standard equipment with the car in my mind; given they're right across the VA/WV state line; and are owned by a businessman here in my county), and despite having ordered it on the 2nd, they still haven't gotten it in. So, looks like we're running with one plate. Can't just zip tie the plate to the front or buy a "one fits all" plate holder from the auto parts store; as due to the !@$% sensors, the proper front plate mount snaps in a specific hole, and does not screw on. You have to buy Ford's.

Oh, that's what I meant, but that's just me trying to think outside the box, may not be good to the tool but I am trying to think what-if I must to get that loosen with no other options in hand.

Hmmm, now that you mentioned it, it does make good sense about the bead-blasted vs polished drivers.  I did remember the polished driver would slip from time to time, but never notice it enough to compare it to bean-blasted.
