111mm Day 14 (bonus cheese & bacon action):

Inspired by Surge and other L&P fans, the Hercules helped make Welsh Rabbit for dinner, this evening.

Quote
Welsh Rabbit is amusing and right. Welsh Rarebit is stupid and wrong.
-- HW Fowler

No matter what ya call it.....it is tasty!

The Hercules opened cheese, bacon, and beer (for the sauce, though the cook may have sampled a bit to ensure freshness).

Final dish: Toasted slices of 'Jocko' topped with bacon and cheese sauce. And a few dashes of Tabasco sauce. Any dish that incorporates L&P Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce is going to be good!

The color is dark because I used a dark beer....and plenty of Worcestershire sauce. I like the sauce thick, not runny. Has to be eaten warm or it will congeal.....but that isn't entirely a bad thing, either.  :D

Mrs Nix loved it!   :2tu:

Opened a bottle.
I'd have to say, the heavy-duty locking bottle opener is not my first choice for this particular task. the extra stiffness when opening, and the extra fiddly step to unlock when closing is somewhat unpleasant.   :dunno:

True, although, a good whiskey-soda (Dr. Pepper or Root Beer) goes really good with pizza too.

I've never had a whiskey soda with Dr Pepper or Root Beer.  life goals

Day 15

Brick: 1   John: Nil

Managed to trip over Coco and bash my toe into a brick. Hoping badly bruised rather than broken, had two broken toes about a year ago and had to wear a giant boot.

Made life very difficult as living alone, apart from Coco of course, means I have to be mobile. Wearing the boot put my back out and in some ways created more problems than it solved.

I%u2019ve still got the boot but will try to keep going with it strapped up as per pics below. So far doing fine, it%u2019s a bit sore if I try to bend it so obviously don%u2019t bend it!

Ooooh John,  :ahhh :ahhh that sucker sure looks broken from here. Of course I'm not a doctor and never even played one on TV.  Best keep it wrapped and check every few hours to make sure it's not swelling up or changing color.  You can take pain killers, but avoid anything that works as an anti-inflamatory or blood thinner until you get that properly checked out.  If it's fine in the morning it's probably fine.  I don't want you thinking your welfare isn't important to me, but more importantly, how is Coco?

Thanks Alan, most important thing first - Coco is fine, quite oblivious to any issues. She was also better overnight than previous night so I’m happier about that.

Good advice  :tu:

It’s been 5 or 6 hours now and still purple but no real change and not quite as painful as when I properly broke a couple last year.

Having said that my initial thought was it’s broken so will wait until tomorrow before making anymore decisions. I don’t want to push my luck by bending them, hence the strapping.

Day 15:
My prediction of -25-27 this morning was slightly off.
Temp at 06:10:

The photo is bit of a fake. I had no heart to crank up the small block from cold since it was not necessary. Preheated M271 in C-klasse next to it got to do the honours. Started and run like a clockwork straight from the bat, even with the Eaton supercharger. Gotta once again give credit to the semi ol’ skool engineers at Sindelfinden :)

Hi Echotech, you must watch out, those bricks can gang up on you sometimes. and they are allies with stones around the house.... jokes aside I hope you get better soon. Only a scratch. As we always used to say Put some Voltaren on it" after a hard game of Rugby.

Day 9

111mm has officially the best philps driver for any multitool. Was able to unscrew a kids piano with it. You know those long thin holes that block normal multitools. No problem for this baby. I cannot praise this line of Victorinoxs enough everyday the outrider surpasses my expectations.

Hope everyone is doing well and have a great day.

It's great, but the Cybertool driver is even better imho. Although I agree there is a certain type of recessed small screw which even the CT driver cannot reach; the small 111 mm's Philips is indeed the only option there m

Cozy. Although I don't like them for various reasons, I can understand why you would want to have an OHO SAK in these conditions...
