Day 26
I finally managed to pick up my 2021 L.E. PX  :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

The RescueTool assisted with opening, but scratched the box ::) (should just use the tab, not both) :dunno:

Congratulations on the 2021 LE PX Surge! :like: :tu: :tu:

Day 26: Used the pliers to loosen the bolts on the battery clamps on my tractor.  I had to enlist the assistance of the mighty Swisschamp pliers to keep the bolt in place. I learned that these pliers are tougher than I thought!  Later, my son used the Workchamp pliers to retrieve a boiling can of water from the fire he built at his Boy Scout meeting.  Unfortunately, I don't have pics of either...

These pliers are nice to have.   :tu:

Dear all

After carrying my Outrider for 20 days now i would like to write a small review to all of you. I know it is a bit like preaching to the choir and this is my opinion but anyway:

The Outrider came about because I wanted to try a larger Victorinox and had a similar tool set as the all round goodie the climber. After carrying it now for a few weeks i can safely say that it is wonderful.

The layer count of 4 is the maximum for these knives. Any larger and i believe that it will be more uncomfortable in the hand. Make no mistake this is not a small light knife. You always know that you are carrying a pocket knife. But it is not overly heavy like a Leatherman. I would say maximum weight for comfortable carry in one's pocket.

Things that i love: the liner lock is solid with no blade play, also because the liner is reversed the blade is sitting in one of the middle layers. I believe this blade position is optimal over the slide lock. Also the screw driver is the best Victorinox makes. Also because there is a liner lock the bottle opener also locks. Victorinox beefed it up so i would also be comfortable using it as a prybar. Scissors are very similar to 93mm scissors so excellent as always. Saw is also not bad and very capable.

Things that would be nice. One hand opening would be nice. But the halfstop is also lovely on a blade this large.  Thats it. Not much wrong with the knife

Generally i would say if you don't have an outrider yet make a plan and get one. It is now easily in my top 5 Victorinox knives of all time. It is just very well balanced sak and will be great for nearly all activities urban or rural

Day 26

One problem with working at home is that you tend to stare at things in the room and eventually they bug you to the point of wanting to improve them.  The light switch covers bugged me for a while as they did not look as good with the new paint, so I changed them today to a more subdued color.  Trekker made it a very quick job.

Great review, but my Hercules and I  respectfully disagree with the following statement: "The layer count of 4 is the maximum for these knives." There is always room for additional pliers!
