The Workchamp XL is my only 111er. I'm going back to something smaller like the SC XLT.

From time to time I'll be giving a workout to the Beast.

Day 29 continued

I removed the lanyard ring from my second Rebar and put a package opener in its place. :like:
The Hercules tweezers were used to drop the thin washers in place. :salute:

I never thought about it, but the toolset of the Workchamp is almost identical to the Spirit, and the Spirit is a good bit more compact.  For that matter, the Workchamp is really a Handyman on steroids

I never thought about it either and I've been looking at the Work Champs on Ebay.  Might just have to stick to my usual carry of a Swiss Champ or CT-41 with a Spirit, and call it a day.

Who is going to carry their 111 regularly beyond this challenge?  Anyone going to expand on their collection?  I really like the ones I presently have, and would like to give the Workchamp a try EDC wise on a longer term basis.  I think it would team up with my Exec and/or an Opinel very well.

The WorkChamp would be a great companion for the Executive or an Opinel!

I like the WorkChamp and was surprised by the Outrider. It fits my hand perfectly and has a good toolset. The Fireman is the other 111MM that I really like.

I think the 111mm's are more 'knife' oriented and the Spirit is more 'pliers' oriented.

Because I use a knife more than the pliers, the 111mm's have great appeal for me.

Mrs did make this wonderful roast chicken without any help of my 111mm, but OHO trekker did help to serve the chicken at dinner table.  After the meal, I used the 111mm to slice open a coke can multiple times just as a small edge retention test.  And even though it can only barely cut receipt paper afterwards, I was able to bring it to paper shaving sharpness only stropping it for less than a minute.  Many knife enthusiasts do complain about 'soft' Vic steel is, if you need to break down many, many card boxes a day for the job, surely it probably isn't the most ideal tool for the job.  But for average day-to-day application, I like how stainless the steel is and how a quick touch up could bring it right back to full sharpness.

Day 23

Crazy day with the outrider. Was about 20km inland and saw 2 massive bull Elephants and wanted to take a pic with the sak, but thought it might be better if I leaved them alone and reversed. Yea I chickened out. Very rare to see them this far South not in a game park.

Used the knife to open some food and envelopes. Took a pic when I got back home so sorry for the overexposure.

Hope everyone is having a great day
