All fun aside, I'll be doing the Challenge with the standard blue scales, after looking at various buying options to Atlantic Canada and considering it was the toolset I wanted over the scales, I saved substantially

Good choice!

I like both the standard blue with compass rose as well as the Navy camo. The blue scales make way more sense from a 'harder to loose' perspective.   :tu:

I don't want to keep cluttering this topic but I just got an email from the vendor
The Skipper is out of stock and unsure when/if they're getting more so they issued a refund
Not sure if this is a sign but I'm resting it for now

I've not done a challenge for a while.
Maybe this would be irrational fun... and that Navy Camo does look good (but why on earth did the Vic marketing department think that made sense ... as you watch your 111 slide gently below the waves truly well camouflaged ... :ahhh)

The complete lack of sensibility is probably why the Navy camo scales are cool.

Moreover, from a marketing perspective....it make sense to sell a product that can be easily lost and then needs to be replaced.....

Put like that Nix I get it. And Ibach is such a long way from the sea the marketing team probably had to have a day out on a  lake steamer to "workshop" the name.

Mind you I never really understood why they made a camo Shewee device ... which seemed to miss a point somewhere or Casio made a Pro Trek Sea Pathfinder with an altimeter (Instructions: If watch displays over 0 ft above sea level look for rocks, sandbanks etc. If watch displays under  0ft sea level ... consider swimming and holding your breathe)

But hey, I don't work in marketing

That is why when the US Navy had uniforms like that, we would joke about them, because everyone knows if you have a man overboard out at sea you want him to blend into the water.  You know it will fool the sharks.  Who cares the ship won’t be able to locate him.

I'd value camo from sharks at that point ...
