I got a gift today, too. Opened with the Spirit.  My friend Dan from Australia gifted me this beautiful modified Ka-Bar Mk I. He told me to point out that I likely have the only Mk I in the US that has butchered both kangaroo and emu for the table.
Very nice! :like:

Day 24 bonus shot
 :mail:
The mail just came in and I received a package from SteveC.  Handily opened with the CRKT Hunt'N Fisch.  Steve sent me a 09/98 dated PST in excellent condition, so I have no excuse not to be in the PST challenge in November.  I have had the short lanyard in the handle of the Hunt'N Fisch for a couple of days now and I am pleased to say the lanyard has made a tremendous difference.  It is so much easier to draw from the sheath by putting my little finger through the lanyard and it makes it feel more secure in the hand to hold it with my finger through the lanyard.  That is what I was missing in all the years that I've owned this knife.
I too enjoy those small hacks that enhance the tool or make it carry better!  :like:

Poker Day 24:

The FX freed a 'Tavern Ham' from its polymer casing. Ham is in the oven (smelling good); FX is clean and in the pocket (which probably means it isn't clean anymore.).

(Image removed from quote.)
Great job cutting the ham, I always remember how to use the small farmer saw to cut limb size tree, but this version of using a small blade cutting a big chunk of ham is just as important!

Day 25

Wenger Giant cutting open a bag of snack with a 65mm scissors.  It's interesting how as a showcase knife, Giant does not only have 85mm tools but also featuring the 65mm scissors.  And using a tiny scissors on possibly the largest SAK on earth is definitely quite funny.  But to be honest, the scissors didn't work really well, it binds a lot and the handle is too close to a huge body to use easily.

That is excellent, but a true professional would have the pork pie first and *then* the swissroll. :D

Ace. I've not had emu, but kangaroo is lovely.

Poker Day 25:

Soup making day. The heavy cutting was left to my cleaver, but the FX did essential service opening a can of tomatoes....with its usual efficiency.   :D

Coffee was empty and needed to be refilled.
Highly important today as I watched "The Great Escape" until 2am last night... didn't recall this movie being that long  :P
The Wave's serrated blade was faster at hand than any scissors  :D

Day 25

The Obake made short work of slicing the 2 yr. old cheddar.  I wasn’t expecting it to be up to the standards of my cheesemaster, but it might even have been better. I’ll have to do a slice-off one day.
