Inspired by Borg's swiss roll, I went out to get a French Mille Crepes for an afternoon tea.  My fixie Brisa Bobtail was there for the serving action.

That's nice of you to help fix that! :hatsoff:

The fact that many of our members are constantly looking for uses with our toys tools does make the world a better place. :tu:

It was partly a selfish reason.  It was near the handle and I didn’t want to cut/scratch myself using the cart.

But I think you you are right about the desire or willingness to use tools making the world a better place.  If you have a tool in your pocket that you want to or like using, you are more likely to fix something that you see out rather than just leaving it.

Nice use of the pliers on the shopping cart Sherry!

Every time this knife is on, I have a hard time focusing on other things in the background.  Lovely!
Me too!

Thanks.  I love the pattern.

Redundant?  I don't think so. I keep shears and a Gomboy saw handy for garden use. A 130mm saw would be easier to keep in a pocket.

THe 130mm saws are excellent...based on my Rangerwood 55 experience. Really like it.  :tu:

I found myself using the Opi  #12 saw a lot lately, great little thing  :tu:

Great looking pic.
Day 26
I discovered a new cheese I’d never heard of today - they called it “Celtic Blue Cheese”. I sliced it up with my new Meerkat. The cheese was really good. If anyone doesn’t know the Meerkat, it’s got a pretty cool locking mechanism. To unlock the blade, you just push the top scale forwards with your thumb, the scales slide past each other and the blade unlocks.

I love cheese and that really looks interesting.  Based off name and look, is it a type of blue cheese?
That makes me think of my Aunt who owns a cheese shop in Cape Cod.  I missed seeing her this past year because of travel restrictions.  Every time I visit she gives me a bag filled with small pieces of different types of cheese to try.

The Meerkat is an interesting mechanism.

On today’s plus side I’ll add my personal completed competition plan, goals and training template for 2021.
Ancient Babylon 2021 will kick-off March 1. 1st part is labelled Steel Tiger and is supposed to carry me to podium in Seniors Revo at National championships tabled for mid-June.
So, I have set the goals and charted what I think is needed to reach them. Now it is just execute, execute, execute. Right? ;) :)

Great that you have developed a plan.  Plans really help for me to keep focused.
Good luck on both the plan and the competition.

Yes it's a blue cheese.  I usually get all excited about blue cheese and then when I have it its not as amazing as I was anticipating.  This one was really good, first impressions a little milder than "regular" blue cheese.
I remember you talking about your aunt, you got her a cheese master didn't you? how does she like it?

Thanks for the inspiration, I was just pondering what to make for supper.  Home made pizza sounds perfect! (I'm not sure what Detroit style is though? Do you have to eat it in the back of a Ford while listening to Motown music?)

I think it is best that way....

Detroit-style is a pan pizza where the dough is topped with cheese and toppings and then baked. The goal is to get a crispy, caramelized cheese crust. Once out of the oven, a few 'stripes' of tomato sauce are added. Hence the nickname 'red stripe pizza.'

This is the goal:

My result will likely be different...but as long as it is tasy....I'm good.   :D

It’s always a pleasure opening a package from Malkoff Devices...even if it’s a battery charger and not a new custom light.

Hmm, interesting cheese and knife.  I kinda wonder why Spyderco design the scale in such way, wouldn't the regular grippy FRN scale be a better choice to operate the lock?

It's the only Spyderco knife I have, I dont know what the regular is.  I showed the back, but if you're interested look at the sort of half circle at the edge.  there's one like it on the other side.  It's kind of like the print where you put your thumb and you push the scale so it slides past the other one.  It's kind of hard to describe, I hope this is understandable!

Poker Day 26 (bonus pizza shots):

So here is the Detroit pie pulled from the oven. It has not been sauced yet....although that doesn't really seem to be a problem.....

Instead of the traditional Detroit pepperoni topping, Mrs Nix requested ham, mushroom, and bell pepper. No problem.

And...here is a slice served up hot with my special tomato sauce. There were no complaints....except the usual "I'm too full" nonsense. Shut up and clean yer plate.

Day 27…27! That went quickly

Have learnt a lot using one MT exclusively for a week and then moving to another the next week

@comis  the wave is a fave PBMT of mine, got this one 2005/6, the OHO i agree is awlsome, looks great, everything nice and solid, excellent bit of kit.

I think the reason it's less comfortable to use the saw (and probably the file but not tested) is the OHO blades being proud of the body.

When you’re using a blade you don’t really notice as it’s only one OHO blade still being gripped. But when using the saw which requires a properly firm hold, you're gripping both the OHO’s which I thought made it noticeably less comfortable than a Huntsman or the Rebar. The internal tools and pliers aren’t an issue as you have the rounded handles when open

in practice i'd rarely use the wave in the yard or take it on bushwalks so probably not noticed before. the wave is still awlsome but will stick with a SAK when I need a saw…or the Rebar

Did a couple of “find something to do” jobs
