This was definitely a learning process

So the first picture shows the large blade out without having to lift the bit driver, the reason this doesn’t work for me is because if I leave the large blade down the cable doesn’t sit flush on the layers of the tool and with it open is obviously a cutting/stabbing risk

The second picture shows how it works best for me I lift the magnifier out, then place the cable and partially close the blade on the cable then close the bit driver on the cable to hold it in place

Once it is in place the third picture shows how it works me to hold it I place it in my hand like that and rotate the bottom of the tool away from me holding the other end of the wire with my right hand (the pic is after I stripped it but wanted to show that part of the process)

In a pinch it does work well without causing damage to the inner cables but obviously if I was doing this regularly I would want the appropriate tools but as always the XLT comes through!

Comis, hopefully I made some sense with some of this

Day 3

(Image removed from quote.)
Barry, turns out my Mechanix leather glove is a M but it is well worn and stretched.  The Giant in my hands do feel like holding a cart driving wheel.

(Image removed from quote.)
Another size comparison to a M-sized gloved hand.

(Image removed from quote.)
While we are at it, I also compare it to various SAK and tools.  Bottom row, from R to L: Classic, Explorer, Swisschamp, XLT, LM OG Wave and 111mm Trekker

-Honey, have you got a Swiss Army Knife with you?
-Yes, dear.
-Which one?
-All of it. 8)

Comparing the inline Phillips screwdrivers on the XLT and Tool Chest Plus
Would you feel the difference when you actually put them in use? :pok:

Thank you for the pictures :hatsoff: , these really explain it well!  Now that I see it, we do have the same orientation of tools.

  If you can make pancake that small, and succeed in flipping it on a SAK spatulas, that's some serious skill!

Day 8

Little guy got this talking pictionary poster thingie, and demanded me to stick it on the wall for him ASAP.  So out come the Giant, found the Minathor Watchmaker tool set for the tiny philips and put in the battery, then used the scissors to cut some 3M double sided tape to put it up.

Btw, I never quite understanding why the Wenger Minathor demands such high pricing on the evil bay...come to think about it, it almost half the price of a Wenger Giant(at least way back when I got it).  Does anyone know the story behind it?  Was it just due to very limited quantity made?

DAY 8

Checking out the compass on the Tool Chest Plus and it is correct

Cool!  I remember having a Silva with me and sometimes compass will develop bubbles at higher attitude (3000-4000M?), but only the nice compasses will have the bubble disappear once I descend.
I wonder will this little one hold up.

  What are we making here?

I tried to craft a tiny wedge to fix a minuscule problem, unfortunately without success. Well, at least I tried and had fun working with my new dremel tool. My wife gave it to me for Christmas and I am now exploring its possibilities.

"Official World Scout Knife"

Wouldn't that be funny if every scout is carrying a Giant?

It would! That reminds me: you still owe us a picture of you pocket carrying the Giant (carrying it in a sheath would also be acceptable; we would henceforth consider you a nerd though)
