Thank you Vicman! I love that file as well, that’s why I also EDC the nailclip

The nailclip is great for EDC!

My 9 year-old son is astounded by the pictures of your Giants. He says he would carry it in a backpack every day....at least it would make for serviceable body armor!
This life is merely a staging ground for eternity. Are you preparing for the rest of forever?

Day 10

So sorry this journal entry comes late, it was a busy day and I just totally forgot to post. Hope it's not too late yet? I used the XLT to trim some some felt pads I needed to fix a problem with our piano.

Day 10

(Image removed from quote.)
Seafood dinner, and I've used the Giant's pliers to try to crack the claw of small lobster.  But unlike those designated seafood cracker clamp, the pliers keep sliding off the shell and bare able to do the job alright.

Well, at least you tried and maintained your dignity (I assume).

Nice to hear that story about your son. This is exactly who the oversized SAKs are really made for: little boys who eventually grow up, but only physically, and have jobs. I guess I can consider myself lucky that the biggest SAK I ever saw in a shop window when I was a boy was the Swisschamp.

Stranger Things

FB, that's a really cool set!  Absolutely love the upside down world and the Giant kinda blends right into the theme.

Same here!  I often have a hard time to choose between Explorer, Mountaineer and sometimes Huntsman...and I secretly wish Vic would consider the put the openers opposite to the inline phillips(like the 93mm mod done by Robert), and save the space for either a wood or metal saw.  That'd be a pretty cool. :climber:

I think I like to live by the saying--"grow up, just don't grow old."  That sense of wonder is priceless.

Nice use, but where does this go?  I see you cutting them in half, so I'm assuming they are not going under the piano?

Day 11

Used the Giant to try to cut some bubble wrap.  Holding onto the Giant at a weird angle while trying to cut the bubble wrap when it's flopping around, it's definitely harder than it looks.  For the first time, I do wonder maybe cutting by knife is easier than scissors?

These pliers are nice, but I prefer the Vic pliers.

I don't like the feel of both sides of the pliers moving when you use them. With the Vic pliers  the one side of the handle remains stationary.

You guess right. I found that the hinges of the keyboard cover were responsible for an annoying little vibration when striking certain keys. I had been looking for the cause of this vibration for quite some time, I am so glad I finally found it. The felt pads in the hinges work as dampers; now everything is fine again.

Nice pics, Vicman. Oh boy, those Wenger pliers. I had high hopes for them when I got the S557; alas, I found them flawed in so many little ways...
