You lucky one. It wasn't a giant mess.  :D
I know...and all those months of challenges probably have Mrs. well prepared to embrace any mishaps coming from my end. :D

Day 17
The next build.  The Child with the Giant.
That's gonna be one giant baby!  Bigger than the stormtrooper I bet! :o :like:

Day 17

Opening some steak pepper. I suppose one could live without Victorinox scissors, but what would be the point?
Speaking like a true SAKnight! :tu:

Day 17

Had to stir some dip
The Spatula probably is a good spreader too.

Good use; I believe the fishscaler might also be suitable for this kind of task.

I think anyone trying to use their pen with their large size SAK in this challenge is pretty cool.  Must not be easy to hold onto a large size SAK as such.

It's no big deal really - just don't use the "pen in the hook slot" method but hold the pen itself in your pinched finger's. If you do it in public, it has the added advantage that people won't think you are crazy (which I assume they would if you were to use the XLT as your pen). I actually filled out a whole form yesterday when I was in a public place and had no other means of writing at my disposition.

Day 16

Used the tip of the fry fork (fish scaler) the ruler and a pencil to make a straight line for a cut I needed to make

I start to wonder if the Angler might be a good 4 layer option for city dwellers or tourists. The fishscaler layer is rather thin and it adds options for handling street food/drink. Also, it can be combined with the pen for drawing purposes. And it has a nice inlay on the front scale to boot. I have a new in box Angler stored away in a cupboard somewhere - maybe I should try to carry it one day

I know what you mean...as a knife/tool enthusiast, I never blink an eye whenever I see a knife put in good use, in fact, it'd always put a smile on me and am always curious what knife is behind every clip hanging out of pocket.  But we live in such different time now, and so many places have developed such knife-phobia it is not even funny.

I don't know, but for me, it's always the Mountaineer in the urban setting.  Openers/blade layers, then scissors, then metal file/saw....just a pretty natural progression for me.

Vicman, have you tried using the Wenger can opener?  How do you like that?

Used the Giant serrated blade to open a bag of chips.  I used not to understand why some folks would prefer a 'toothy' edge over a mirror polished edge, until real world application as such--some of the tin foil bag are pretty slick and heavy duty, and the tooth edge/serrated blade do have an advantage over mirror polish edge on cutting those kind of material.

I prefer the Vic can opener. I open a can quicker with it than  I can with the Wenger can opener.

I hear you, this is how I ended up with the CT34. However, I realize more and more that a forky, pokey tool with which you can eat and prod & pick up stuff might be useful in everyday life. Some of the things for which I use Vic pliers could also be done with the fishscaler. And it also works as a (light duty) lever. I think when this challenge is over I will give the Angler a try as EDC. In fact, this morning I dug out the Angler, gave it a plus scale, a pen, a pin and a lanyard and transferred it into my "user drawer".

That's cool!  I think part of the reasons to join a challenge is to discover new uses or finding a new tool for trying. :like:

How about the Cyber Fish? CT 34 + Fish scaler.

Good idea, Vic could manufacture a special harpoon bit for that one.  :tu:  Hope they are reading this.

The next build.  The Child with the Giant.

Love child with giant!

But something about the picture reminds me of James Bond talking to “Poosey” Galore about Auric Goldfinger: “He’s quite mad, you know.”

Cue the music!

And enjoy the GIANT!
