Epic Comis! Love the grip you have to use on the Giant!

:iagree: Comis, you seem to be handling the Giant quite expertly by now :hatsoff:

Day 24

Fishscaler at work again. It makes a very competent fork I must say. I am really grateful to this challenge for making me aware of this fantastic, versatile tool.

Now that the challenge is nearing its end, I find the most extraordinary thing about the XLT is that it does not feel extraordinary at all after a few weeks of EDC. I notice it's in my pocket, obviously, but it's still easy enough to carry around in my jeans and it handles well. It may look intimidating at first, but it really isn't at all. If the apocalypse comes and I can only grab one knife, I might go for the XLT (provided I am wearing suitable pants at that moment).

With all that said, I feel that one is unlikely to encounter many situations (if any at all) indoors or outdoors in which the XLT will save the day where a SC or CT41 cannot. If I ever need to cut in a hurry through my handcuffs or my arm to avoid being blasted to bits, the SC or CT41 will give me the same chance of survival. And there is no denying that while the XLT handles very well for its size, a smaller sized SAK will handle even better and will be easier to carry to boot.

So my conclusion is similar to the one I arrived at during last year's stacked SAK challenge: I am very fond of my XLT and believe that every SAK fan should own one. I also think it makes a great stationary toolbox, e.g. for a weekend cottage. But for my personal EDC needs it's maximum overkill. So I will happily return to my CT34 after this challenge, provided the even smaller Fisherman doesn't take over that spot after I try it out for a while.

Thanks. It's ridiculous how much I like the fishscaler at the moment. This morning I discovered it also makes a decent scratching device (less aggressive than fingernails). All in the name of science

It's kinda funny the journey we take on SAK challenges, only to realize tools we never thought we would like. :iagree:

I got my first Christy knife in 1959 when I was 8 years old. Currently I have 9 with 3 more on the way.

Day 24

Used the Giant to help assemble the balancing bike for the little guy, the pliers did come in handy, though I'd admit it would be nice if the two pliers could come off from Giant separately, so I could tighten the cap bolt without recruiting the Knipex Cobra XS.

Yay! That's the spirit. If I only could have one SAK, it would be the XLT.

The CT 34 also has a lot of capabilty. Pliers and Bit driver...

A Giant task. What is bigger? The bike or the Giant? There's also a bike brand "Giant".
