Mike Horn's Evo 17.  The scales are made of recyclable products, and unlike the Evo S17, the Evo 17 doesn't have a locking blade.

I have one of these, and if I recall, isn't wood pulp in the scales?

Day 10 of 30

This morning we went to shooting range to do some SRA-Shooting and regular target shooting and used flathead on to adjust sights.
It was really rough and long weekend but im finally home after driving 4,5 hours back home.

Sounds like a long weekend! At least the range time sounds fun. RK62?

Beer and jalapeno pretzel pieces.
What kind of beer is that?

A couple of mint Fire Highlanders.

The s52 opened some coffee and some venison sticks.
That coffee...I'll have to look for it!

Day 10

My intention was to show every function on the Evo 23 in action (excepting the toothpick and sewing eye; I can't come up with a use for the latter). However, the taller scales don't allow the wire stripper to function as intended. Unless I can come up with an alternative use for it, I won't test it. Today's photo shows what I am talking about.

No uses today, but I'm happy to report that the Red Sox are up 4-2 after five.

Day 11
October 11

First time since this SAK came into my possession (last 2016) that the can opener will be put to use. Yeah, it’s sharp and cuts thru the tin smoothly and effortlessly.

Normally a Vic Waiter is assigned to the kitchen for such jobs.

DAY 10:

A couple of mint Fire Highlanders.  Nothing prettier than a Wenger with translucent red scales.
The bottom one is NIB and still has the protective plastic film over the scales.

Day 10
October 10

I did say that I miss the Vic can opener as alternative philips driver when the inline won’t bite properly. Here’s my alternative: the magnifying glass driver tip. It doesn’t slip from my target screw as much as the inline philips.
Take note that:
1) I can’t go pretty deep with it as the mag lenses get in the way.
2) I have to remind myself to engage the tool with the back springs on top otherwise if it’s tool side facing up, it’s bound to close/fold on me.

I’ve never seen one of these Wenger mags in real life - but I am intrigued!

You’ll be really happy after 13!  That was a crazy play in the top of the inning. I’m always amazed that despite all of the games I’ve seen and played I can still see something new!

Day 10 bonus photo!

A new countertop dishwasher was delivered today. I always set up such things. The Evo 23 helped me tighten up the clamp for the drain hose.

Day 10;

Nailfile use on the Viking. I prefer the pen blade, but honestly, the nailfile is a tool with which it's gonna be odd to do it's intended job with another, so I don't mind at all.

I carried around my Evolution S17 all day today as an EDC in my pocket (actually for the last few weeks).  With the pocket clip, I don't hardly notice the knife in my pocket at all.  I have other things in my pocket, but with the knife suspended in my pocket from the clip, don't feel the weight or bulk at all.  In this configuration, the knife hangs with the protruding locking lever facing inside, and so does not catch on anything as I pull the knife out of my pocket.  I highly recommend the pocket clip with the S17 if you want to have it on you all the time as an EDC.

Thought I’d switch to the Evo14 this week, having mostly used the Commander and 18 up to now

In its natural habitat skinning an Amazon white (a bit like the can’t see your camo SAK jokes, this never gets old :D )

Day 11 Pt2

Snipped the handles off a plastic bag being used for a bin liner

Although I’m usually one for defending Wenger scissors, have to say they didn’t do a great job and kept binding in the plastic, done it many times with VIC scissors and they do it much smoother

A pale ale brewed with Earl Grey and hibiscus. Tasted much better than I was expecting. The brewery is Northern Monk.

Day 11.

Switched to the Delemont Evowood 10 today.  Why am I showing a Vic Bantam as well?  So there is a good chance you'll have noticed the Wenger Cross on the scales, but you'll also note that it's got the Wenger tang stamp on the blade.  So; knife made in Ibach but with Delemont branding vs. knife made in Delemont with Ibach branding.  ;)
