DAY 27:

And now for something completely different, the 110 in the kitchen.

Day 27

I tried using liver of Sulfur to force patina the 110, and experimented with different temperature and concentration.  The end result was way too aggressive to my liking and I did eventually polish them all out.  But my little experiment has proven LOS as a mean to force patina is a viable option.

The pictures shown are the residue patina I haven't polished out, if the temperature is too high and concentration, the entire bolster will turn purple black like the middle photo.

It doesn't need patina to look good.

No uses, except for cutting two apples and later having this cup of tea with 110 as a companion

Asparagus usually takes a couple years to establish. It doesn't all come up at the came time. Your probably okay.   :tu:

Sounds good, i will keep my eye on them then, if they survive i will move them to a better place next year i think :tu:

Dismantling the earth with a 110?  :pok:

i know, i should really get myself an electricians knife but the Buck laps it up  :tu:

Day 27 made some candle wax cotton pads, no joy with the flint and steel but i tried it later with the ferro and worked well, needs more practice probably

Day 27
Almost at the end of this challenge so I have to do the Castaway test that I do in every knife challenge.  Will the Buck 110 get me into a coconut if I was stranded on a desert island.  This one was almost a fail. The Buck 110 wasn't the wrong knife, but I chose the wrong coconut.  This coconut had been in my yard for months and was so dry that it was very difficult to cut through the fibrous husk.  I persevered, however, as I knew you all were counting on me.  Yes. The Buck 110 can cut open a coconut.
