I cut my grass for the first time on Sunday, and it went and snowed on Monday morning!

Day 14

Noticed my bathroom sink cabinet had a loose nob. Got that taken care of quickly with the flathead

Day 15

Half way through! :woohoo:

On my way back from my hike to the supermarket I noticed that there was some grit stuck in the cleats of the tread which made an annoying grinding noise on the pavement, so I used the awl to winkle them out when I got back.

Day 15

Old knife day meets new flashlight day ... PX helping to open more packages. This light will go on my keys with my alox classic SD for company...

Day 15 Part B

This year's edition of the cricketing Bible arrived after I'd finished eating, the PX opened it and I'm giddy, so here's the addition action shots for the day;

Now, if I can just get to a game...

Day 15
:woohoo: Half  way there as Rizio said, so congrats to everyone.

So, then, this being our halfway point perhaps now is the time for some reflection. How has it been for you? Everything you hoped? Or not?
Here’s my tuppence worth:
  • I love this knife
  • I love the heft of it, the beauty of the engineering, the comprehensive toolset, the look and feel of it...
But...
  • It is heavy. Not so much on a suspension clip in jeans, but very much in dress trousers, at work, where it is a real dead weight in the pocket
  • I miss my other knives  :(. Especially my cadet and my little manager (not a euphemism!). I have been seriously jonsing for something, anything else! I’ll be a broken man by the time we hit day 30  :ahhh

Anyway, it’s been another beautiful day. So we have another nice walk with the pup & the PX followed by a cold one before dinner.

Didn't have much use for the PX today but I cleaned out a failed 3D print of a filament feeder with the awl just for the heck of it

If those are the ones from Moscow, you’ll find them easy to use. :tu:

these are indeed from Moscow but I’m afraid they frustrated me at every turn. I had high hopes because they seemed to fit beautifully, but I must have been doing something wrong as i just couldn’t get it to work. Went back to brass in the end. I was working on an Outrider doing half screws half brass and probably should have started with something more straightforward...

Only ever tried them on 93mm knives which I thought worked well, and I’ve only ever used brass on 91mm knives - I’ve no experience at all on knives larger than that, so  :hatsoff: for doing those, Jud65! :like:

Thanks Rizio. Not that much different from the 91mm. I’m still new to this and 93mm Alox is so far outside my comfort zone... well, let’s just say I know my limitations. Anyway - any failing on this experiment with De Custom Forge’s bits and pieces is all me. Nothing to do with the kit.
So, I am left today staring frustrated at my not quite complete Outrider. All assembled but short a couple of bits of brass. The PX shares my frustration. The wee bun helps.
(By the way, for anyone wondering, the mug is a profoundly ironic gift from my every-loving, if consistently disrespectful, family)

Good work again, everyone. That's a lovely PX, Guibur. :tu:

Day 17

I spent most of today out and about, a quick walk, a burger and a few beers for dinner and then a game of non-league football. So not many chances to get the PX out without attracting unwanted attention... Still, it managed to sneak into a couple of photos during the day.

An early start messing about before the household wakes up and disturbs my golden time! Still sorting out my keys - using these lovely machined D ring shackles to hold some keys. With the PX helping, of course
