I much prefer the clasp version, I have an OHT in a sheath on my backpack and the Velcro is so loud every time I open it haha

And they are titanium nonetheless! They seem to have good warranty as well.

I have to admit that I've never really been a fan of a pocket clip on anything. :D  Each to their own of course, they're just not my taste.  In fact I much prefer to drop a PST, Pulse or Bond straight in my front pocket.  That said we've not really talked about the Nylon sheath we get with the Bond.  The Bond is the first new LM I've bought with this type of sheath and my first impressions are mostly positive.  Seems to be made out of a good thick Nylon webbing and well stitched together.  I'm liking the stud fastener a lot.  Big, easy to close and easy to locate without looking.  On the downside I don't know why there's such an excess of space when it's closed.

It is designed to hold several different LM tools :salute: Quality isn't bad but I have heard others have said that they can unsnap pretty easy if caught on something and even one I believe lost a tool :ahhh

I only use one sheath, the newer nylon camo one with elastic sides and am rather pleased with it (even if it is velcro closure ;) )

The new design does look nice I have just never used them :D

which clip to order, i looked at my K series knives and the clip on those is bent to allow going over a pivot screw, the T series and P series are flat where they meet the frame, what is the correct stock number?

Cheers mate.  I will say that the old Pulse sheath is a very good fit and I suspect the heritage sheath should be good too.

Rebar with a factory clip like the Bond has is just :dd: :like:

Seems like someone has already did this or was going to :dunno: :ahhh

Thanks Steve :hatsoff:

Already done it to a Surge and a Supertool. Haven’t done it to a rebar yet, but I probably won’t as I prefer the Bond 👍

Clip on a lightly modified  Rebar.

Bond not available in my neck of the woods yet, but certainly keeping an eye out for them so I can join this club

 :like: Nice Max!

For those that want to upgrade the Bond the pic below shows what LM offer as accessory that fits out of the box.

The Rebar in the pic may soon undergo a similar upgrade. Tools for UNC threads are not too copiously available in my neck of the woods but I have managed to place orders for a set of 2-56 taps and 1.85 mm drills (thanks Waco :salute:) which I hope arrive soon  :)
Cheers!

I don't suppose it really matters, but I am curious - is the bond made "offshore" alongside the Wingman and friends, or is it in the portland factory?

Noting the various improvements from the PST, I imagine if you had to choose *one* to be your companion to travel the world, collect badges, and challenge your rival Gary, you'd take the Bond - but if you *already* had a PST (or original Supertool) are the improvements sufficient to justify an upgrade?

I don't know if it has been announced, and I can't be arsed calling the distributor to ask them, but I am interested to see where this falls pricewise for the Aussie market. I know we're hardly a blip for LM, but it's nice when a brand-name product doesn't cost the same as a fortnight's rent....

I imagine it is made in the same places as the Rebar and except for plier head and maybe a part here and there, it is in house  The plier head on it is the pre-plus plier heads that came on most of their regular sized tools from 2004 until they were replaced by the replaceable cutter plier heads :tu:

As far as pricing, I haven't the foggiest  but they aren't price to awfully bad in Europe, so hopefully they aren't that bad down under either :salute:

Quick compatibility test with the Leatherman Tool Adapter (TA) and its Universal pendant (UTA).

The UTA fits best (top, shown with added extender and ratchet).

The older TA will also fit in a pinch (bottom); although the handles do not close as far as with the UTA and placing the TA is a bit more awkward, the TA sits solidly.
Cheers!

One more compatibility test: the Bond will, not entirely unexpectedly, fit in the Rebar leather holster, but it also does even if it has been upgraded with the pocket clip - this will inhibit snap closure if outside the holster (1st pic) but there is enough space to place the clip inside - this makes it rattle proof too (2nd pic).

(Edited- I found out about the 2nd option after the initial post)
