I do know that when I asked if they would repair my PST which dated to before the 25 years they said they would be more than happy to repair or replace it.

This is an interesting read, and to be frank, I almost ordered a Bond on Tuesday.

But, no I did not.

I luv my Rebar (s), never have had or handled a PST, so this new model’s mystic has passed by me.

Yet, interested to know if a Bond may be a lite version of a Rebar, European acceptable.

Do, how do they compare?  It may not take much to tip me toward a purchase

I wish you had mentioned that earlier…I just bought my second vintage PST for $50ish bucks. :-). 1st dates to 92-93, 2nd 96.  They just seem a little “finer” to me.  Not to mention, I like old stuff :-)

I like the older stuff as well, which is why I have two PST and a couple of PST II'S. I love the original, but I live the file and scissors on the PST II.

One day soon I will be seeking out an OG Wave. I would so like to pick up this new Bond. I wish they had just named it Tool. Then they could have just stamped Leatherman Tool on it. Like the old days. Anyway, I would like one. I have a Rebar and love it. Back then it was the closest thing to the PST, and also often compared as a smaller SuperTool

I like that name better too, and I am very tempted to pick up a PST II.

It is A LOT like a Rebar Lite, although I would point out a few differences:
- If you are using it without gloves, I much prefer the Bond. The lack of lock plates and better rounded edges makes for far fewer hotspots when gripping tight. I actually don't like gripping the Rebar tightly because the plates pinch into my palm. Bond is WAY better.

- It pocket carries like a dream. Pocket clip means I'll pocket carry it, whereas the Rebar in your pocket is kind of a blocky nightmare.

How did I do? 😁

I think the compare well.  The Bond contains the same tools minus the saw and serrated blade.  It’s a little thinner and doesn’t have locks, but the slipjoint holds things nice and tight.  Definitely worth your consideration.

I hope you like it as much as I like mine.  Great tool, especially easy to carry with the pocket clip.

I really think you would like it, LC :salute: :D

It is in a form factor that you already like and a bit more compact for a lightweight carry :tu:

I already have a Rebar saw blade on the way from Ebay to replace the file. That will give me a similar toolset to my old Sidekick, but without the useless little file and serrated blade.

Reread the thread a couple more times.
Feeling returned to my wrist, and placed order last evening to arrive Saturday, but I will be surprised.   If Amazon had the LM clip would have ordered. But no, a 3rd party option, so decided no.
Now the wait…
